…the big one This is the 2nd New Moon in the sign of Leo this year which is in itself a very rare event and it will also be a Total Solar Eclipse at 28°52’ Leo. This particular Eclipse will be visible in various degrees of darkness throughout North America with the path of totality passing through Oregon, Idaho and across the US exiting in South Carolina. The longest duration of darkness will be in western Kentucky where the obscurity will last 2’40”, some astrologers suggest that this is the duration in years of the effects of the eclipse. The last Eclipse over North America [...]
think twice……. Mercury starts its retrograde period at 11°38’ Virgo and backtracks to 28° 42’ Leo where it again stops in its tracks on 4th September to station direct. I think that this retrograde season for Virgoans could be fairly easy. They are already used to sorting out information with regards to its usefulness and planning is part of their nature, the introspective motif of the retrograde period could thus be almost “familiar” to them. On the other hand I think this could be a rather trying period for Geminis who by nature are mentally all-over-the-place (with a [...]
…contemplation anyone? The Full Moon and the partial lunar eclipse of this month falls at 15°25’ of the sign of Aquarius, a Fixed, Air sign ruled by Saturn (traditional ruler) and Uranus (modern ruler). Full Moons are times of harvest and completion when things concerning the house in the natal chart with Aquarius on its cusp can’t possibly get any better, nor any worse for that matter. But this is also a partial lunar eclipse. The last lunar eclipse at 15° Aquarius was on August 8th 1998 Whilst Solar eclipses manifest as external events in our lives, Lunar eclipses indicate [...]
The horoscopes for August are now posted on the horoscope page!
…… can we anticipate surprises? Uranus starts his yearly, five-month retrograde period at 28°31’ Aries on the 2nd August. He will end this period at 24°34’ Aries on the 1st of January 2018. The subsequent retrograde period will start in September 2018 at 2°33’ Taurus (the planet enters Taurus on May 2018 and backtracks from August onwards to conclude in January 2019 at 28°36’ Aries). Some info…(this is more or less a repeat of last year’s Uranus retrograde fact sheet) Uranus has an 84-year orbit and spends roughly 7 years in each sign. After his discovery in 1781 [...]
Early 2016 I was invited by astrologer Faith Thomas of Insight Astrology (FB page Insight Astrology, please take the time to have a look around Faith’s page, she has some super articles and advice there) to write up an article of my choice for her page. I chose the subject of Secondary Progressions and Faith published my article in April 2016, this was later also published by the Kepler College on their website (www.keplercollege.org - also well worth a look since they offer webinars and lessons at very reasonable prices). So since many of you have shown an interest in Secondary [...]
A time to shine but not for all….. There will be a New Moon at 00°44’ Leo on the 23rd of July. It is the first of two in the sign of Leo this year the second one being involved in the total Solar Eclipse at the end of August. New Moons are times when the Sun and Moon are conjoined in the identical degree of the same sign and this causes the Moon to remain hidden from our view. It’s a great moment to set intentions for the coming month regarding the matters of the house where it falls in our natal chart. New Moons can be seen as moments of “seeding”. The Moon in Leo finds[...]
being responsible is part of the game…… On July 9th there will be a Full Moon at 17°09’ Capricorn, a Cardinal Earth sign and the sign of the Moon’s detriment where it is at its least at ease. This Full Moon falls on the traditional 10th-4th axis, work vs home, public vs private, one parent vs another, rigidity vs flexibility etc. The persons most affected by this lunation will be those with planets or angles between 15-20° of the Cardinal signs of Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn. Full Moons are peak energy times, “now or never” moments regarding any projects we have [...]
JULY HOROSCOPES NOW POSTED ON THE HOROSCOPE PAGE ENJOY!
emotionally intense……. The New Moon will occur at 2°47’ Cancer, a Cardinal, Water sign, ruled by the Moon itself. New Moons are the moment we set our intentions for the month ahead regarding the house where the New Moon falls in our chart but we now have four of ten planets transiting in this sign making it a very emotionally energetic period particularly for the Cardinal signs of Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn. Raven Kaldera in his book “Moon Phases” calls this the “Daughter’s Moon” and likens it to the myth of Demeter and her daughter Persephone who was abducted[...]
