  • VENUS STATIONS DIRECT

Venus terminates her (apparent) retrograde motion and stations direct at 11°04’ Capricorn (antiscion 18°56’ Sagittarius). Venus can now be seen in the sky as a morning star.

Venus in Capricorn is “proper” as well as ambitious and perhaps even calculating. Social propriety and etiquette, at least on a public level, mean a lot to this rather ambitious placement for Venus, less so perhaps in the bedroom, but that is a side that Venus Capricorn would prefer to keep private!

Venus’s contours are finely chiselled and with a distinct “no frills attached” attitude in this serious sign. Ambition is often part of the picture too.

How did this retrograde period go for you?

    Just to recap:

    A Venus retrograde period:

exposes those areas of self that are normally concealed from view

and are often the complete opposite of the behaviour we normally show and this in itself could undoubtedly cause emotional stress for us.

Thus, the Venus retrograde period is an excellent time to contemplate those which are our deepest and most personal creative needs and if the flaws and faults enhanced, and so readily identified in others, are not really ours. A deep introspection into what makes us happy and what may be missing in order for us to be so could be in order.

It’s also a good time to work on creative projects, heal old heartbreaks and/or take care of unfinished business in order to make room in life for the things that bring us joy.

During this time old lovers may also resurface, physically and mentally! Before welcoming them back with open arms (if they do appear in their physical form) stop and think for a while, especially about the reasons why the story ended in the first place and what role you yourself may have had in this (consciously or not).

New loves may also begin during this period. Again, use caution, keeping your eyes wide open because at the end of the retrograde period things may not be as they initially seemed…you may have been rationalising your romantic ideas too much or have been overthinking and overextending your financial possibilities and this is an excellent period to get a handle on your economic future especially by avoiding major financial expenditures which might have long-term repercussions once the retrograde is over.

Particular to this long transit of Venus in Capricorn are the following aspects still to perfect:

Conjunct Mars on 16 Feb 16°53’, Venus in Capricorn is in her daytime triplicity, Mars is exalted in Capricorn. Sexually satisfying if nothing else. For others self-expression and creativity are also good outlets.

Sextile Neptune on 24 Feb 22°14’ (the last hit of three), on a personal level for those charts affected by this transit, it’s a pleasant transit if you don’t load it with impossible and unrealisable dreams and fantasies, let’s say that everyone needs a day off every now and then! Globally we may hear of a work of art or a song or music that hits the headlines or brings back fond memories.

Conjunct Pluto on 3 March 27°50’ (the last hit of three), on a personal level for those charts affected by this transit, falling madly in love and losing control could be one manifestation of this multiple transit, losing or gaining power over financial resources could be another. On a more global level it could involve huge gains or losses at financial level.

The Sabian symbol for 12° Capricorn: “An illustrated lecture on natural science reveals little-known aspect of life.” Indicating the ability to explore unfamiliar realms and discover the laws underlying the complex processes of nature.

For the antiscion at 19° Sagittarius: “Pelicans menaced by the behaviour and refuse of men seek safer areas for bringing up their young.” Indicating the need for people concerned with the future to discover a new way of living and more wholesome surroundings.

“What’s done is done. What’s gone is gone. One of life’s lessons is always moving on. It’s okay to look back to see how far you’ve come but keep moving forward.” Roy Bennett
