URANUS’ TENTATIVE MOVE INTO GEMINI 6-7 JULY 2025
Don’t just think it…say it, the era of free speech is upon us!
Uranus has an 84-year orbit and spends roughly 7 years in each sign. It was discovered in 1781 by an amateur astronomer named William Herschel and, in more modern times, it was given joint rulership of the sign of Aquarius together with traditional ruler Saturn.
Astrologer Bil Tierney* has the following to say:
“Uranus with its equatorial plane at right angles to its orbital plane is an odd ball in our solar system and appears to roll on its side as it moves around the Sun.”
In the myth Ouranus was married to Gaia (the Earth), he fathered many children with her but found all of them so ugly, horrific even, that he banished them to an underground and faraway place called Tartarus. Of course, Gaia wasn’t happy about this and she coveted anger and planned revenge. Some of her children did manage to return and Saturn, her favourite son, was one of these. Gaia gathered flint and made a sickle and convinced Saturn to help her kill her husband (his father). Saturn slayed Ouranus by using the sickle to castrate him. He threw the severed genitals into the sea and from the blood that dripped onto the Earth the Goddesses of Revenge were born (the Erinyes) whilst from the foaming sea and Ouranus’s discarded testicles the Goddess Aphrodite was born.
Saturn and Uranus are intricately involved with each other and a conjunction occurs approximately every 45 years, the last conjunction was in Sagittarius in 1988 and the next one will be in Gemini in 2032. Uranus paves the (new) way and Saturn clears up the debris and validates the (new) order afterwards.
The last time Uranus was in Gemini was during the WWII from 1941-42/1948-49 and simultaneously Pluto was in Leo in sextile by sign if not always by aspect, Neptune in Libra in trine by sign but not always by aspect (Pluto and Neptune thus in sextile by sign) and Saturn came to Virgo forming a square to Uranus by sign if not always by aspect during the years 1948-51, previously it was in a sextile aspect to Uranus from the sign of Leo. The only plus side I can think of about wars is that they really push inventiveness and new technologies and many useful and good things come from them after they no longer serve military purposes.
This time Uranus transits Gemini, Pluto will be in moving through early Aquarius (a trine aspect), Neptune and Saturn will both be in Aries for the first part of the Uranus transit forming a sextile aspect by sign and degree both to Uranus and Pluto.
Some keywords that might be associated with Gemini, ruled by Mercury, are: sociable, curious, intelligent, versatile, restless, fickle, amoral and sometimes not very honest! Gemini has been given rulership of the third house in the zodiacal wheel. This involves kin, communications of all types including those in internet or via telephone, short trips, neighbours and our local neighbourhood as well as speeches and debates. In mundane astrology the third house also involves rumours and propaganda, press releases etc, issues of free speech, transport systems as well as public opinion and matters of free speech.
Uranus on the other hand can be described as inventive, innovative, eccentric, unpredictable, reactive, mental and restless. It rules inventors, technicians, research, rebellion, freedom and democracy (for some it also rules astrologers having overridden its younger brother Mercury in this).
Uranus should be definitely more at home in Gemini than in Taurus.
So, what might we expect by taking Uranus at face-value in Gemini?
On a mundane level, free speech may become a huge issue, perhaps new methods of education with students studying by distance learning rather than attending by person, or maybe some scientist or IT engineer will find a way to download information of any type and manner directly into our brains with minimum effort from ourselves! Lots of reforming ideas that speed up communications, travel (time travel?). Gemini is a dual sign so expect splits in mentalities with people fighting against each other for their different viewpoints. Uranus may even bring astrology to the fore in an unpredictable renewal of interest. People born under the sign of Gemini are known for their youthful appearance and behaviour (Peter Pan of the zodiac) even as they age so who knows, Uranus in Gemini may bring in new breakthroughs in longevity through genetic engineering as technology in the medical /biological field also reaches new levels of development.
Another thought that pops into my mind is a breaking free of what has now become the “normal” way to communicate and that is social media. With both Uranus and Pluto in Air signs and in trine aspect to each other during the early stages of Uranus’s stay in Gemini there will be not only a breaking away from but also a complete revolution in the way we express ourselves socially rather than how we express ourselves individually (when Pluto was in Leo).
I also believe that the “listening devices” which so many people seem to be addicted to (Alexa, Siri, Gemini etc) erroneously believing that they make their lives easier or more fun will either completely take over our lives and leave us more or less incapable of deciding anything on our own as thoughts and suggestions seemingly pop into our minds from nowhere or they will be outlawed as we desperately try to get back our freedom from the subliminal messages and stop feeding our habits and desires into customer surveys or actions of downright spying.
As with the last time when Uranus was in Gemini and with wars practically waging all around us at this moment in time, many new inventions running along the lines of radio waves, new technological inventions will abound over the next seven years. These inventions will probably be used first in warfare and then adapted to civilian use. (Computers, microwaves, radar were all invented during the 1940’s when Uranus last transited the sign of Gemini.
On a personal level we must look to the house where Uranus is currently transiting and to the house it resides in our natal chart…this is where the collective changes will filter down into the personal.
“Antigravity, teleportation, time travel, energetic DNA evolution and consciousness transformation could create a world few of us ever even dreamed of.” David Wilcock
What are you expecting from Uranus in Gemini…please share your thoughts!
