  • Pluto RX in AquariusPLUTO STATIONS RETROGRADE IN AQUARIUS

After just over a five-month stay in Aquarius, Pluto stations retrograde at 03°49’ Aquarius (antiscion 26°11’ Scorpio) and will backtrack until 13-14 October when the planets stations direct at 01°22’ Aquarius (antiscion 28°38’ Scorpio).

The chart for the moment of the station (04/05 London 15.28 UT) shows Venus approaching a sextile to Pluto and Mars separating from an opposition to the planet but still well within orb. Pluto c//Jupiter could indicate a grab for power using force (Mars) or some might become obsessed about religious “rightness” (Jupiter) and hope to put energy (Mars) into convincing others about the betterment (Pluto) of self through religion – usually by coercion. Uranus is on the same degree of the Lunar nodes and //Moon – our feelings (or the people in mundane astrology) could be on a roller coaster as we try original new ways to modify our life without losing the comforts we have been used to.

The retrograde period will affect those persons with planets and/or angles in the Fixed signs of Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius between 0-7°. Look to the house axis where Pluto is transiting in your chart for indications of the matters that will be under scrutiny during the retrograde and the house with Scorpio on the cusp.

Pluto is concerned with power, regeneration, survival, transformation, sex, obsession and possessiveness. Pluto is the god of the Underworld. With the planet’s stay in Aquarius I believe the theme will be a revolution of technology as we now know it and this could go either way. Or the destruction of modern technology in favour of something more “user-friendly” and less invasive or a hyped-up technology embracing all facets of our lives.

During the Pluto retrograde period, matters that were previously too painful to face may bubble up from our unconsciousness and we may have to meet these in the physical realm where we will be required to deal with them. Pluto only forces us to confront and transform that which is in dire need of change. This period may also provide us with the opportunity to find some of the latent sources of power inside ourselves allowing us to harness them in an appropriate way. Pluto shows us the reality of our limitations which probably became very obvious during its long stay in Capricorn. The retrograde period is really a huge invitation to become more fully aware of the resources we hide in our inner depths. Failure to do this could lead to external events that may puzzle and/or distress us as we take on the role of victim.

The Sabian symbol for 04° Aquarius: “A Hindu yogi demonstrates his healing powers.” Indicating the disciplined use of spiritual energies in restoring natural harmony disturbed by man’s in-harmonic attempts to transcend nature through mind.

For the antiscion at 27° Scorpio: “A military band marches noisily through the city streets.” Indicating the aggressive glorification of cultural values.

“One day, in retrospect, the years of struggle will strike you as the most beautiful.” Sigmund Freud
