OOB NEW MOON IN GEMINI 26/27 MAY 2025

The New Moon will occur at 06°046 Gemini (antiscion 23°54’ Cancer).

This is a very inquisitive, intellectual Moon, hard to pin down emotionally due to its constantly changing feelings caused by its tendency to over-rationalise everything. Under pressure this Moon is not very reliable and commitment issues may surface.

The OOB New Moon is making several aspects, firstly, it is separating from a conjunction to its dispositor Mercury, and all three planets are in a trine aspect to a retrograde Pluto in Aquarius (Mercury is applying and the New Moon is separating). This aspect gives the opportunity for some deep reflection about how our lives should be led but with no other planets plugging into the trine aspect it will be difficult to actuate this opportunity particularly since the Moon itself is OOB and both Moon and Sun are peregrine in Gemini, two drifters pulled in so many directions. Mercury is also dispositor of the South Node in Virgo, the past seems evermore appealing to many but the way forward is indicated by the parallel aspect between Jupiter (ruler of North Node) and Pluto, certainly not an easy road to follow since it involves great transformation which, as most of know, is usually very uncomfortable and distressing. The New Moon is also separating from a sextile aspect to the Saturn-Neptune conjunction in Aries, no wonder the past few days have been full both of expectation and feeling weak or unable to act.

The Modalities in the lunation chart are well-balanced while the Elements have a lack of planets in the Water signs (empathy – goodbye), only one in the Earth signs (being practical is difficult) and respectively five and four in the Air and Fire signs….our intuition about how the future will go is very active!

New Moons are times when we are invited to set our intentions for the month to come regarding that area of our life which the Moon is illuminating in this lunar phase. People most affected by this New Moon will be those with planets in the mutable signs (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius and Pisces) around 04-09°.

In his book “Moon Phase Astrology”, author Raven Kaldera calls this New Moon “The Little Brother’s Moon” because Gemini is given rulership of the third house that also involves siblings. For Kaldera this Moon phase in Gemini represents “the younger sibling who lives in his mind and not in the physical world since although he is intensely clever, compassion is unknown to him.”

He continues “on this Moon we indulge our curiosity, the nervous energy associated with it can affect already highly strung people to the point of a nervous breakdown and concentration becomes difficult so it is more worthwhile to go out with friends rather than stay at home worrying.”

The Sabian symbol for the Moon at 07° Gemini: “A well with bucket and rope under the shade of majestic trees.” Indicating man’s primordial faith in the hidden sustaining power of life.

For the antiscion point at 24° Cancer: “A woman and two men castaways on a small island of the south seas.” Indicating the focalisation of complex inner potentialities in harmonic and concrete relationships.
