OOB FULL MOON IN GEMINI
…focus is what we need
There will be a Full Moon at 16°01’ Gemini on 7-8 of December (antiscion 13° 59’ Cancer). As we all know, full moons are when matters that have been simmering under the surface emerge to be dealt with. This lunation occurs on the 3rd-9th house axis (Gemini-Sagittarius) in traditional astrology; how I think vs how they think, short trips vs long journeys, reason vs intuition etc. Both signs are concerned with gathering and spreading knowledge as well as education and travel.
This is a restless, mentally active Full Moon, the last plenilune of this year, it’s great for multi-tasking but its dispositor Mercury is ill-fitted in Capricorn where it made its ingress just 2 days ago.
The OOB Moon is in a partile conjunction with an OOB retrograde Mars and is also approaching a trine to Saturn and a square aspect with Neptune. Perhaps confusion will reign as we struggle to make sense of things, we could have that nagging sensation that perhaps we’re really not doing things in a responsible, right way but Mars wants it done whatever and is more than prepared to fight/quarrel/brag to get this. There is also a Mutable T-square formed by the Moon-Sun opposition both square Neptune which is the apex of the T-square. This formation hints at information being misunderstood or purposely construed in a deceptive manner or, more likely, that our head and heart are at odds and totally confused.
The dispositor of the Moon is Mercury, newly entered in Capricorn and not aspecting any of the other planets in the lunation chart. Mercury is OOB (as are Venus and Mars and Moon) it’ll be doing its own thing, a serious ambitious Mercury out of control.
The lunation chart has the Elements well-balanced whilst the Modalities lean towards a heavy Mutable state (6 planets) – we’re looking ahead for possible changes and may act recklessly.
Jupiter, dispositor of the Sun is on the anaretic degree as it prepares to leave the sign of its dignity and enter Aries where it has none. Jupiter in Pisces craves self-sacrifice that often comes over as self-disguise since Pisces is infinitely adaptable and could further muddle the picture.
Declination-wise we have Saturn//SN (a desire to hang on to the past), Sun//Pluto (egomaniac), OOB Venus c//OOB Mars (conflicts on an artistic/sexual level), there’s also OOB Venus//OOB Moon c// OOB Mercury which at best could be good for writing poetry or love songs or saying what you think in the nicest way possible.
The lunation will most affect those with planets or angles in Gemini and Sagittarius between 14-18°.
So, this Full Moon highlights the connection between our beliefs and ideals and real life and brings up questions such as “What part am I playing in my life?”, “Which archetypes am I manifesting?”, “How much control do I have over these matters?”.
Author Raven Kaldera in his book “Moon Phase Astrology” calls this Full Moon in Gemini “The Storyteller’s Moon”. He writes that this is an excellent time to enjoy a good book or movie, to sit around with friends confiding your life story or to start a diary where you jot down your most intimate and heartfelt truths about yourself.
The Sabian symbol for the Moon at 17° Gemini: “The head of a robust youth changes into that of a mature thinker.” Indicating the transformation of physical vitality into the power to build concepts and intellectual formulations through which knowledge can be transferred.
For the antiscion at 14° Cancer: “A very old man facing a vast dark space to the northeast.” Indicating fulfilment in transcending and changeless wisdom.
“jack of all trades/master of none/but once you learn/how to juggle/you rarely drop the ball”
