• NEW MOON IN PISCES ON 23 FEBRUARY 2020

  • It’s all about seeing things as they really are.

The fifth of a series of six New Moons at 4° of the relative signs, this lunation will be at 4° 28’ Pisces (antiscion 25°32’ Libra).

New Moons are notoriously the best moment to set fresh intentions for the month ahead. This one falls on the 12th-6th house axis (Pisces-Virgo) in traditional astrology so themes such as chaos vs order, compassion vs criticism and wholeness vs perfection come to mind.

In a close applying conjunction to a retrograde Mercury, this dreamy New Moon may already have all the requisites needed for channelling messages from the other side for those already gifted in that way. A mutable modality Moon is always restless by nature and the Pisces Moon is also highly creative and sensitive, often with mediumistic qualities.

The recent sextile to Uranus may have caused an unexpected expansion of the aforementioned traits and the upcoming sextile to an exalted Mars in Capricorn, exact on the degree of the Solar Eclipse in December, could give us the energy and the ambition to follow up on our hunches however other-worldly they may seem. Matters involving the Solar Eclipse may also be at the forefront again in those countries and for those people whose natal charts are involved in the early degrees of the Cardinal signs.

For the less spiritually inclined it’s still an excellent moment for reading a good book, listening to your favourite music or just day-dreaming and, why not, thinking about how those fantasies and dreams could become reality.

Jupiter, the dispositor of this New Moon is in its fall in Capricorn, just separating from a sextile to Neptune and already in an exact square to Venus in Aries, also in bad shape due to it being in its detriment in this sign. These three planets together could make us feel much happier than our reality might indicate urging us to appreciate the good things in life despite any recent harsh setbacks.

Raven Kaldera in his book “Moon Phase Astrology” calls this new Moon

    the “Dreamer’s Moon”.

He goes on to describe this Moon as “a reflection of Neptune’s influence on the Moon resulting in people who never quite know where all their edges are, barely able to figure out what is real from what is imaginary.” On this Moon he suggests that we use the time for (day)-dreaming since our strength at this moment is now in believing that our wishes can come true.

The Sabian symbol for 5° Pisces: “A church bazaar.” Indicating the value of giving a spiritual or transcendent sanction to even the most commonplace interchanges between social persons and individual minds.

For 26° Libra: “An eagle and a large white dove change into each other.” Indicating the interaction of the spiritual Will and of the Love principal when critical needs arise.

“In dreams we enter a world that’s entirely our own.” Albus Dumbledore
