  • NEW MOON IN PISCES

    don’t quit your daydreams….

There will be a New Moon on the 2nd of March at 12°06’ Pisces, a mutable, Water sign ruled by Neptune (modern) and Jupiter (traditional), let’s also take into consideration its antiscion point at 17°54’ Libra.

Both Jupiter and Neptune are transiting the sign of Pisces so the New Moon is in the company of its dispositors. Sun, Moon and Jupiter are all separating from a recent sextile to Uranus in Taurus. Although still very unpredictable, the future nevertheless seems much brighter now, however, Jupiter is burnt by the Sun (combust) and this could signify that our hopes are also. Planetary energy always has the possibility to work one ways or the other.

The Lunation chart has once more no planets in the Fire signs but a heavy emphasis on the Water (4) and Earth signs (4), the Modalities remain well-balanced. Water needs Earth to contain it and prevent overspill so that is another hint that we should keeps our dreams real. All the planets are contained within the Lunar nodal axis, it’s really up to us what the future might bring. Mercury is just separating from a conjunction to Saturn in the Air sign of Aquarius and is also parallel Venus, correct and altruistic behaviour in the social arena will still be required and with both Venus and Mars in close conjunction to Pluto in Capricorn we may find our physical energy a little bit hard to control. A work-out in the gym would be preferable to bullying or being bullied.

New Moons are notoriously the best moment to set fresh intentions for the month ahead. This one falls on the 12th-6th house axis (Pisces-Virgo) in traditional astrology so themes such as chaos vs order, compassion vs criticism and wholeness vs perfection come to mind.

The lunation will involve those with planets or angles between 8-15° of the mutable signs (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius and Pisces) and the house where the New Moon occurs in the natal chart.

Raven Kaldera in his book “Moon Phase Astrology” calls this new Moon

    the “Dreamer’s Moon”.

He goes on to describe this Moon as “a reflection of Neptune’s influence on the Moon resulting in people who never quite know where all their edges are, barely able to figure out what is real from what is imaginary.” On this Moon he suggests that we use the time for (day)-dreaming since our strength at this moment is now in believing that our wishes can come true.

The Sabian Symbol for 13° Pisces: “An ancient sword, used in many battles, is displayed in a museum.” Indicating through the effectual use of his will a consecrated man can become a symbol of courage for all those who follow in his footsteps.

For the antiscion point 18° Libra: “Two men placed under arrest.” Indicating a breakdown in the constructive relationship between the individual and society, and the expectable result.

“In dreams we enter a world that’s entirely our own.” Albus Dumbledore

What new intentions will you set for this lunation?
