A bit more time for some serious thinking

Mercury’s retrograde period will end on 3rd-4th February when Mercury stations direct at 24°22’ Capricorn (antiscion 05°38’ Sagittarius).

For me, as a Gemini, this period has been fraught with “irritations”, errors and setbacks of all kinds. How about you?

This retrograde period started when Mercury was in Aquarius, a sign in which the planet will re-enter on the 14th of February. Gemini and Virgo, both ruled by Mercury, may have responded differently to the signs their ruling planet moved through on its journey backwards. Virgo, being an Earth sign finds the Air signs (Aquarius) rather too rational and in the head and this could have produced a bout of criticism from precise Virgo who likes planning on a more practical level, however during Mercury’s stay in Capricorn, Virgo will have found itself more on the same wavelength. Gemini, an Air sign, is at home with Aquarian energy appreciating their logical, future-oriented way of thinking but not so when Mercury re-entered Capricorn as this could have put a damper on any impractical ideas. Of course, the retrograde movement alters the way Mercury is expressed and makes it more an internal, inward journey rather than an expansive outward thrust.

During its remaining stay in Capricorn, Mercury will make the last conjunction to Pluto (the 1st one was on December 30th the 2nd one at 26°51’ Capricorn on January 28th with Mercury R) on February 11th at 27°16’ Capricorn with Mercury direct. These conjunctions could indicate powerful words, lob-sided thinking or devastating/mind-blowing news. Around 27th January news broke out about Neil Young’s music being removed from Spotify (1), perhaps he will return upon this decision once Mercury turns direct and of course there were many other outraging news in the dailies such as Boris Johnson’s statements about Brexit “freedoms” (2) and the list could go on with some very scary news about a possible imminent war. Let’s see what comes up in the news on the last of the three Mercury-Pluto conjunctions.

The Sabian symbol for 25° Aquarius: “A butterfly with the right wing more perfectly formed.” Indicating the capacity to develop the rational and fully conscious aspect of the mind ahead of normal evolution.

For the antiscion at 6° Scorpio: “The gold rush tears men away from their native soil.” Indicating the passionate search for new values which, at any level, promise a more abundant life.
