• JUPITER SQUARE PLUTO 30TH MARCH 2017

  • The road to success or self-restraint?

Jupiter now retrograde in Libra will perfect a square aspect to Pluto in Capricorn on the 30th of March at 19°17’ (Libra-Capricorn).

In the traditional horoscope this square will involve the 7th and the 10th houses; trying to jostle relationship requirements (including fairness and justice) with our public status, be this on a career or social level. It will have most effect on those people with planets and/or angles between 17-21° of the Cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn).

With Jupiter being retrograde we have an opportunity to turn inwards and gain deeper insights into spiritual or philosophical issues since our wisdom will flow with more ease from the subconscious to the conscious self and this introspection of course, involves our personal relationships as well as our sense of justice and fairness.

Pluto heralds transformation, when this planet is involved there is always something that breaks down or breaks through and this covers our morality and our humaneness too.

It could mean that we get a tremendous boost and encouragement from our partnerships which help us to succeed in more outwardly and worldly situations that are under constant transformation, a common goal towards success.

Jupiter-Pluto contacts are “power houses” pushing us forward on the momentum of radical change which, if overdone, can cause destruction and dishevel by blowing away the niceties of Jupiter in Libra to give way to the more shady dealings of a super-charged Pluto in Capricorn. Likewise we may crave more (Jupiter) control (Pluto) of the matters pertaining to the houses involved in the square in our natal charts exaggerating (Jupiter) with reforms (Pluto) that are necessary for a kinder or fairer system.

Is your chart affected by this square? Care to share?

Hello Lynn, I have been pondering the effects of transiting Pluto in Capricorn in my 3rd house exactly squaring my Jupiter return in 12th house. Any comments would be welcome. Thanks, with love, Carolyn.

Hi Carolyn, Happy Jupiter return! (worth celebrating since it happens once every 12 years). Jupiter in Libra is a very peace and fairness-loving position, in 12th it indicates that joy and happiness come from inside rather than outside the self and it’s often called the “Guardian Angel” position for Jupiter since it seems that however fraught situations become the last line is that you always come up right-side. Transiting Pluto in Capricorn 3rd is all about (on a personal level) revolutionising your thought patterns and the areas you are personally responsible for in a deep and meaningful way, it’s also generally about siblings, education, routine journeys etc. Square aspects between Jupiter and Pluto are very powerful, adding “good luck” to strong convictions and often guaranteeing achievement, it puts an extra “oomph” to your personal views too. Believe in yourself and your inner satisfaction and I don’t think you can go wrong! Obviously this is just a general take on these aspects since the chart needs to be considered in its entirety. :-) Lynn
