…ups and downs (especially after the lunation)

The Full Moon OOB in Aquarius falls at 01°26’ of the sign of Aquarius (antiscion 28°34’ Scorpio), a Fixed, Air sign ruled by Saturn (traditional ruler) and Uranus (modern ruler).

Full Moons are times of harvest and completion

when things concerning the house in the natal chart with Aquarius on its cusp can’t possibly get any better nor any worse for that matter.

Aquarius is the sign of friendship and group activity, it’s about being independent and inventive whilst being part of a larger group of like-minded people as we work towards a common goal.

The Full Moon falls on the 11th-5th – Aquarius-Leo – axis in the zodiac so whilst the Moon is illuminating our friendship zone the Sun in Leo is shining in our house of individuality wanting us to sparkle on our own…will we be able to find a compromise between the two?

Being a sign (Aquarius) with two co-rulers (Saturn and Uranus) then we might say that the Moon’s passage in this sign and the conjunction that it will quickly form with Saturn Retrograde could result in two different types of (exaggerated OOB) reactions: Moon-Saturn is notoriously a combination where our feelings are more than dampened and when we are given the opportunity to take a harsh look at where we’re putting them and perhaps why. These thoughts can also manifest as a sinking or generally depressed feeling especially with Saturn in its more introspective retrograde motion. Moon-Uranus, a square aspect will form rapidly after the lunation, is a jump-start to our emotions with perhaps lightening mood changes and wanting to belong but at the same time to be alone or independent from others emotionally, the “I’m yours but don’t get too close type of feeling!” Sun observes all this from the opposite side of the chart perhaps desiring more fun, games and light-heartedness than Moon is able to provide at this moment.

To further delineate this theme let’s see what Saturn and Uranus are doing on the astrological plane right now. Saturn is retrograde in Aquarius with the Moon approaching a conjunction and already in orb. Saturn R is also separating from the square to Uranus which will be in orb all year long. Saturn-Uranus have great difficulty organising their energies together, due to the square aspect between two Fixed signs (Aquarius and Taurus) and also to the fact that they are very different planetary energies which find change difficult to actuate if not in sudden uncontrolled outbursts.

Raven Kaldera in his book “Moon Phase Astrology” calls this Full Moon phase “the Friendship Moon” and he invites us to hang out with our friends during this period, asking others and ourselves just what value friendship has for us in our lives.

The Sabian Symbol for the for the Full Moon at 2° Aquarius: “An unexpected thunderstorm.” Indicating the need to develop the inner security which will enable us to meet unexpected crises.

For the antisicion at 29° Scorpio: “A native American woman pleading to the chief for the lives of her children.” Indicating love as a principle of redemption.

For the Sun at 2° Leo: “An epidemic of mumps.” Indicating the spreading power of individual crises through a collectivity.

Let’s remember on this Full Moon

“You’re interesting and you’re different and I like that” Anon

Where’s the Full Moon in your natal chart and what kind of friendships are you revising now?
