  • Full Moon ScorpioFULL MOON IN SCORPIO

Finding the answers but keeping them to ourselves.

A Full Moon at 22°13’ in the Fixed, Water sign of Scorpio (antiscion 07°47’ Aquarius).

Moon’s (feelings/people) traditional dispositor, Mars, is in Leo and under a wide applying square from Mercury in Taurus as well as an applying trine from Venus in Aries, which is also dispositor of the Sun in this lunation chart. A time to make decisions is approaching and they won’t be easy since there will be a high probability of disrespecting some people’s opinions in favour of others given that the square between Mercury and Mars involves the Fixed signs. The trine from Venus to Mars indicates that some form of passion may be involved in these decisions or that we may have to fight to be respected for the things that we hold dear. Pluto, the Moon’s modern dispositor is also receiving an exact square aspect from Mercury as well as being parallel Moon. These two aspects herald a promise of deep emotions coming to the fore in the shape of fanatism as well as profound secrets being disclosed.

Sun (head/leaders) is approaching a conjunction to Uranus and both are, of course, opposite the Moon. Unexpected actions in the attempt to obtain some kind of freedom (over financial matters perhaps?) or eccentricity in behaviour patterns is certainly to be expected. Both planets (Sun, Uranus) are sextile Saturn which should add a note of determination to any action. However, the ongoing square between Jupiter and Saturn could act as a safety valve inducing more time-tested theories to be put in place or perhaps it will be a case of more pessimism about the various situations in the world (Moon sextile Saturn).

With Venus//Saturn more financial turmoil is probably to be expected. Sun//Mars//Uranus – high volatility in positions of leadership that could involve a lot of chest-beating (Sun// Mars) as well as sudden and unexpected actions (both //Uranus).

In the lunation chart the Elements are well-balanced whilst the Modalities show a heavy emphasis on the Fixed Modality, stubbornness and not wanting to move forward as well as being over-wilful.

Full Moons are also known to be times when things climax, when we decide that enough is enough for certain aspects of our life because we avert an intensified conflict between two major areas of our life and we need to find a way to honour both.

They shine a light on the area that is “hidden” and in this case, in traditional astrology, all matters concerning the 8th house and the sign of Scorpio. The axis involved is the 8th-2nd and involves questions such as: the saboteur vs the constructor, temptation vs security, emotional crisis vs calm etc. Taurus is the first Earth sign and he wants to build, Scorpio is the second Water sign and wants to destroy in the attempt to understand and regenerate.

The effect is certainly more evident when the Full Moon closely aspects any personal planets or angles in your chart (19-26° of the fixed signs: Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius), it also depends on the houses involved in your individual chart.

Author Raven Kaldera in his book “Moon Phase Astrology” calls this Full Moon the “Priestess’s Moon” he continues in his explanation “the Priestess has been down to the darkness and up again into the light.  She has dragged herself down the path of deep introspection and learned that the best way out is with the aid of Deeper Powers” On this Full Moon he recommends spirituality and meditation and failing that to surround yourself with Nature and contemplate the beauty of it all.

I suggest that we use the light of this Full Moon to illuminate where we can create more comfort and ease in our lives relinquishing those things (or persons) that no longer make us smile. Let’s search for our own personal pot of gold by digging deep inside ourselves to find what we really need in life to feel good.

The Sabian symbol for the Moon at 23° Scorpio: “A rabbit metamorphoses into a nature spirit.” Indicating the raising of animal drives to a higher level.

For the antiscion point at 08° Aquarius: “Beautifully gowned wax figures on display.” Indicating the inspiration one may derive from the appearance of Exemplars who present to us the archetypes of a new culture.

For the Sun at 23° Taurus: “A jewellery shop filled with valuable gems.” Indicating the social confirmation of natural excellence.

“Ships don’t sink because of the water around them; ships sink because of the water that gets in them.  Don’t let what’s happening around you get inside you and weigh you down.” Accredited to Tiny Buddha

What’s peaking for you on this Full Moon? Where do you need to dig deeper?
