  • Full Moon in ScorpioFULL MOON IN SCORPIO

Finding the answers but keeping them to ourselves.

The Full Moon will occur at 11°21° Scorpio, a Fixed, Water sign (antiscion 18°39’ Aquarius).

Full Moons are also known to be times when things climax, when we decide that enough is enough for certain aspects of our life because we avert an intensified conflict between two major areas of our life and we need to find a way to honour both.

They shine a light on the area that is “hidden” and in this case, in traditional astrology, all matters concerning the 8th house and the sign of Scorpio. The axis involved is the 2nd-8th and involves questions such as: the constructor vs the saboteur, security vs temptation, calm vs emotional crisis etc. Taurus is the first Earth sign and he wants to build, Scorpio is the second Water sign and wants to destroy in the attempt to understand and regenerate.

The effect is certainly more evident when the Full Moon closely aspects any personal planets or angles in your chart (0-5° of the fixed signs: Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius), it also depends on the houses involved in your individual chart.

The traditional dispositor of this lunation is Mars in its home sign of Aries, separating from a recent conjunction to Saturn and approaching a square aspect to an exalted Jupiter, the Moon is making a trine aspect to Jupiter. Moon is in its Fall in Scorpio, at its best, overly secretive and being addicted to power, at worst, vengeful and obsessed by power. Traditional ruler Pluto is still enmeshed in the long-lasting trine and sextile aspects with Uranus and Neptune and is also c// Jupiter//Venus. Jupiter might exaggerate the energy of Moon and Mars in the form of public demonstrations and protests, be these for or against war or social restrictions (Pluto c//Jupiter) is open to debate. Something, however, will have to give if the drastic changes (Pluto-Uranus) regarding how we perceive our enemies and perhaps even reveal their true identity are to be made .

The trine aspect (Moon-Jupiter) could make it much easier for that rage to manifest in the hours after the Full Moon in a very violent way (Mars-Jupiter) which perhaps few see coming. Pluto the modern co-ruler of this Scorpio Moon is, as already stated, sextile to Neptune and trine to Uranus in this lunation chart, indicating perhaps a possibility that some kind of secret power is at work or the opportunity for us to dissolve such power?

There is only one planet in the Earth element suggesting that impracticality could be normal and only two planets in the Mutable signs, flexibility and looking ahead to avoid actions that might cause reactions may be a bit scarce too.

Perhaps we should just try to enjoy the simple things in life (Taurus) without investing too much emotionally (Moon in Scorpio).

I suggest that we use the light of this Full Moon to illuminate where we can create more comfort and ease in our lives relinquishing those things (or persons) that no longer make us smile. Let’s search for our own personal pot of gold by digging deep inside ourselves to find what we really need in life to feel good.

Author Raven Kaldera in his book “Moon Phase Astrology” calls this Full Moon the “Priestess’s Moon” he continues in his explanation “the Priestess has been down to the darkness and up again into the light.  She has dragged herself down the path of deep introspection and learned that the best way out is with the aid of Deeper Powers” On this Full Moon he recommends spirituality and meditation and failing that to surround yourself with Nature and contemplate the beauty of it all.

The Sabian symbol for the Moon at 12° Scorpio “An official embassy ball.” Indicating group consciousness, as it flowers at the highest level in cultural interchanges between representatives of the elite of the ruling class.

For the antiscion at 19° Aquarius: “A forest fire is being subdued with the use of water, chemicals and sheer muscular energy.” Indicating the skill and courage necessary to bring under control the destructive potential of carelessness of “karmic” visitations.

For the Sun at 12° Taurus “A porter carrying heavy baggage.” Indicating self-mobilisation for social advantage.

“Ships don’t sink because of the water around them; ships sink because of the water that gets in them.  Don’t let what’s happening around you get inside you and weigh you down.” Accredited to Tiny Buddha
