  • Full Moon in PiscesFULL MOON IN PISCES

    I feel you……

There will be a full Moon at 07°25’ Pisces (antiscion 22°35’ Libra). This is the second Full Moon in August an uncommon but not rare event.

In the Western world we tend to indulge ourselves in feeling-based activities on full Moon days but in Tibetan Buddhist monastic tradition this is a day devoted to the purification of “negative” karma during which people are encouraged to indulge less, thus creating space to contemplate the true nature of reality (1).

An emotionally stable lunation chart but with hardly any inclination to think about the future and move forward (only 1 planet in Fire and 1 in Air) finding a way out of our problems may be cumbersome since although we might be flexible (5 planets in the Mutable modality) we lack oomph (2 in Cardinal modality).

Mercury, Sun’s dispositor is retrograde in Virgo and c// Mars in Libra, this could make for some rather emotionally and heated arguments probably about minor details or things that aren’t going as you expected them to. Sun separating from an opposition to Saturn in dreamy Pisces also hints at seriously looking at the big picture without concerning ourselves with too many details.

Moon is //Saturn and also in a separating conjunction to the planet which is retrograde too adding still more gravitas to a situation which may not be as bad as it seems but certainly calls for sobriety and getting our emotions together.

Jupiter, dispositor of the Moon, is slowing to station retrograde in Taurus and is in a loose conjunction with Uranus retrograde as well as in under an applying square from Venus retrograde in Leo. Unexpected events may force you out of your comfort zone perhaps connected with bettering your physical appearance or wanting to run the show in some way, careful because you may not be able to pull off either!

The ongoing square of Pluto to the Lunar nodal axis continues to indicate power struggles on all levels and as in all Full Moons Moon and Sun are in opposition indicating that head and heart are totally out of synch.

In traditional astrology the Pisces Full Moon is connected to the 12-6th house axis and the Pisces/Virgo opposition, in short; in the 12th house our energy goes with the flow whilst in the 6th house we arrange our energy ie.: we plan life. The Pisces/Virgo opposition lends to dynamics such as chaos vs order, compassion vs criticism, all-inclusivity vs discrimination etc.

Pisces is a mutable, Water sign and this Full Moon will have major impact on persons who have planets or angles at 05-09° of the other mutable signs; Pisces (conjunction), Virgo (opposition) and Sagittarius and Gemini (square).

Raven Kaldera in his book “Moon Phase Astrology” describes the Full Moon in Pisces as the

    “Healer’s Moon”

since Pisces demands deeply personal service as opposed to its opposite sign Virgo who believes that the best type of service is rendered impersonally. So, on the Healer’s Moon we are invited to find ways of bringing healing to others in some way. Healing can in fact take on many forms be these physical, mental, emotional or spiritual.

The Sabian symbol for 08° Pisces: “A girl blowing a bugle:” Indicating a call to participation in the service of the race, as an evolutionary crisis approaches.

For the antiscion at 23° Libra: “Chanticleer’s voice heralds sunrise.” Indicating a creative and joyous response to life processes.

For the Sun at 08° Virgo: “A five-year-old child takes a first dancing lesson.” Indicating learning to use one’s capacity for emotional self-expression according to cultural standards.

“You learned to run from what you feel, and that’s why you have nightmares. To deny is to invite madness. To accept is to control.”  Megan Chance, The Spiritualist
