    Mercury stations direct at 08°29’ Pisces (antiscion 21°31’ Libra) exactly conjunct the transiting North Node so if your chart has this degree prominent you may find an upswing of the affairs of the house where Mercury is to be found and the houses it rules. Mercury is also parallel Mars which adds anger and haste to actions and words.

    Mercury isn’t at his best in Pisces, he’s actually in both detriment and fall which obviously doesn’t help him feel good, or on the ball either for that matter.

    Mercury here tunes in his antenna, he’s the receiver of the word and thought but he has some difficulty in articulating his actual speech and sentences often come out confused and of dubious or multiple meaning. In other words; confusion reigns!

    This is due to the fact that being on the receiving end means he’s churning out whatever psychic stream he happens to be tuned into in any given moment. Often this makes him rather an attention seeker other times he’s silent and meditative especially when this psychic flow gets interrupted for some reason. During this transit however, he’s also an excellent listener and he really seems to be pay attention to what you’re saying…whether he’s actually taking it in or not is another thing altogether!

    Another plus side of this transit is that the rich internal scenario that is formed through the psychic connections can also be expressed in art or whatever other type of creative endeavour you might want to put yourself to…it’s an excellent time to communicate through visual or written expressions. This is how to really get your meaning over to others.

    The best moments to get the most out of Mercury’s sojourn here is to heed the last thoughts of the day as you drift into sleep or those that emerge from the subconscious upon waking.

    The persons most affected by this period will have been those with planets and/or angles between 29-14 Gemini and Virgo as well as the other two mutable signs of Sagittarius and Pisces.

    Gemini and Virgo, both ruled by Mercury, may respond differently to the signs their ruling planet moves through on its apparent journey backwards. Virgo, being an Earth sign, mixes more willingly with the Watery signs, acting as a container for them and, forming an opposition to Pisces, there is often common ground upon which to work out a compromise upon. Gemini, an Air sign, finds the Water signs very confusing and Pisces particularly so since they face each other at 90° in the zodiac, Air signs are rational, emotions disturb them, Water signs are empathetic they understand reason and logic with great difficulty so this retrograde will certainly be harder for Gemini than Virgo.

    I can personally vouch for Geminis having had a harder time during this retrograde, for me, events have taken weird and unexpected turns over the last month and thinking over them has only come up with other impracticable or non-solutions. It seems that the harder I try to unravel things the more complicated they seem to become. How have you been coping with this period?

    03 April (15°57’): trine Jupiter R (Pisces-Cancer) – no need to tell people your deepest secrets, this could make you vulnerable and/or they may even think you’re over-emotional.

    14 April: sextile Uranus (29°24’ Pisces-Taurus) – jumping from one idea or thought to another may not help you choose the best option.

    The Sabian symbol for 09° Pisces: “A jockey spurs his horse, intent on outdistancing his rivals.” Indicating the intense mobilisation of energy and skill in the drive for success in any social performance affected by the competitive spirit.

    For the antiscion at 22° Libra: “A child giving birds a drink at a fountain.” Indicating the concern of simple souls for the welfare and happiness of less-evolved beings who thirst for life renewal.
