• BLOOD MOON AND TOTAL LUNAR ECLIPSE ON 7 SEPTEMBER 2025

  • pisces Full MoonBLOOD MOON AND TOTAL LUNAR ECLIPSE

    ….time to tackle the truth

The total Lunar Eclipse will occur at 15°23’ Pisces (antiscion 14°37’ Libra) on September 7 and will be visible from start to finish across Asia and Western Australia. Glimpses of some phases will also be possible from Europe, Africa, eastern Australia and New Zealand. This event will not be observable from the Americas. The Moon will appear as a red ball in the sky as the Earth’s shadow rolls over the lunar surface.

The last lunar eclipse at 15° Pisces was on September 7 2006 but of a different Saros series.

What was happening in your life then?

Whilst Solar eclipses manifest as external events in our lives, Lunar eclipses indicate more intimate, emotional changes which could of course still manifest as external events if the brooding that accompanies our innermost vicissitudes causes changes to our behaviour at an individual level. Such events are in fact brought about by our own thoughts and feelings.

Personally, I consider only the conjunction and opposition aspects (the square only if the Sun or Moon is affected in your chart) and orbs should be less than 2°.

During the Eclipse, the Moon will oppose the Sun in Virgo, the Sun is separating from a conjunction to its dispositor Mercury which is within orb of combustion and since Mercury refers to news, communications and ideas, these could be hidden by the Sun (leaders), meaning we are again not getting the full story about events. The Moon is approaching a trine aspect with its dispositor Jupiter, now in the sign of Cancer, it seems like we, the people, are quite happy in our ignorance basking in an unjustified optimism for some reason (Mars square Jupiter). There is also very tight quincunx aspect between Moon and Venus, this might indicate that although we feel good something is “not quite right” and needs addressing as soon as possible before matters get out of hand.

The Uranus R trine OOB Pluto R both sextile Neptune R is still in effect, sudden destruction might still come under a cloud of deception.

The Elements are fairly well-balanced in the Eclipse chart whilst there is a predominance of Mutable energy in the Modalities.

There are several Fixed Stars involved in the lunation chart and worth mentioning because they interest the planets mentioned above:

Moon conjunct Achernar, believed by Ptolemy to be of the influence of Jupiter, Moon is already in longitudinal aspect to this planet.

Uranus//Zosma of the nature of Saturn and Venus, giving an unreasonable and shameless nature.

OOB Pluto is conjunction Altair, according to Ptolemy of the nature of Mars and Jupiter conferring among other things unyielding ambition.

This Eclipse (like the upcoming Solar one) affects the Pisces/Virgo axis or the 12-6th houses in traditional astrology. Like the Solar eclipse about to take place on September 21 this one also belongs to the Saros series 9 New South* which according to Bernadette Brady heralds the surfacing of news which will have a sense of destiny or fatedness to it. So, this could well be a

“constructive time for tackling the truth”

Eclipses can be considered as a “spotlight” on the matters of the house axis where they occur in your chart (particularly so if personal planets or angles are involved in the eclipse degrees). It shines its light and brings to our attention those areas of our lives that need to be addressed for some reason. Dealing with these matters, once identified, could lead to a life-changing event in some cases. However, since events under eclipses are often unexpected and sudden it’s not always possible to prepare in advance but having a notion of the matters of the houses interested in the event could give us inkling as to where the disruption might come from.

Raven Kaldera in his book “Moon Phase Astrology” calls this Full Moon in Pisces

    the “Healer’s Moon”

a time, according to the author, when we might find ways to help others in need, be this on the emotional, mental or physical level. I might add that it could be a wonderful time to practice Reiki, either on ourselves or by sending healing energy to our loved or close ones. Let us not forget to show compassion and attention to our own needs during this time since we can help others only if we’re feeling good ourselves.

The Sabian symbol for the Moon at 16° Pisces: “In the quiet of his study a creative individual experiences a flow of inspiration.” Indicating reliance upon one’s inner source of inspiration or guidance.

For the antiscion point at 15° Libra: “Circular paths.” Indicating coming to terms with the inevitability of establishing steady rhythms of social activity.

For the Sun at 16° Virgo: “In the zoo, children are brought face-to-face with an orangutan.” Indicating a direct confrontation with the “wild” power of primordial nature within oneself.

On this Lunar Eclipse and Full Moon:

“The mind commands the body and it obeys. The mind orders itself and meets resistance.” Saint Augustine
