    A PREVIEW OF THE UPCOMING LUNAR ECLIPSE IN PISCES

    I normally write my planetary transit articles well in advance of the actual dates so today I was looking into the Lunar eclipse that will take place at 25°41’ Pisces (antiscion 04°19’ Libra) on the 17-18 September. This affects me personally since the Eclipse will be opposing my natal Saturn at 25°32’ Virgo so I was interested to see what other charts in the news might be involved.

    After a quick browse of Nick Campion’s excellent volume  “The book of World Horoscopes” I found the charts of two countries which are definitely in the news right now (pp163 and 381):

    The first chart I looked at was that of Iran (1 April 1979, 15.00 IRDT, Teheran). Here the Lunar Eclipse is exactly conjunct natal Mars (in natal 8th, ruling 9 and 4 and exalted in 6), t Neptune R is conjunct n Mercury R (in 8, ruling 11 and 2) and trine n Jupiter (in 12 ruling 5,8 and exalted in 12), t Saturn R is conjunct South Lunar Node and the transiting node is at the exact same degree as the natal Moon making this planet a key player (n Moon is in 10th and rules 12, finding its exaltation in 8th), t Uranus R is also sextile n Mercury.

    As you can observe that the natal 8th house is very activated by the Eclipse and transits.

    The second chart is that of Venezuela (22 September 1830, noon chart, Caracas). In this chart the Lunar Eclipse is also conjunct Mars in natal 7th ruling 11-4 and exalted in 2nd.  The natal Moon on the cusp of the 12th house rules the 8th.

    We must also note that the degree of the eclipse will be activated by a square aspect from Mars at 25°41’ on 27 August when it will be the apex of a Mutable T-square with a Venus-Neptune R opposition.

    Furthermore, Mars will be OOB during the Eclipse.

    The eclipse is of the Saros series 8 South and according to astrologer Bernadette Brady indicates “separation and loss, to finish something and feel sad at its completion, physical injury due to over-straining one’s strength.”

    All comments regarding astrology are more than welcome.
