FULL MOON IN TAURUS 24TH OCTOBER 2018

Charming someone’s pants off (Venus-Sun) whilst following your own agenda (Scorpio) may lead to an eruption of emotional fireworks (Uranus-Moon) that put you in your place (Taurus).

There will be a Full Moon at 1°13’ Taurus on the 24^th October.

This is a very interesting lunation. Moon is conjunct retrograde Uranus in Taurus and Sun is conjunct retrograde Venus in Scorpio.  All are square to the transiting lunar nodes which are now to be found on the very first degree of the Leo-Aquarius axis. So we have a Grand Cross in the fixed elements with the North node ruled by the Sun and the South Node ruled by Uranus (modern) and Saturn (traditional). The Moon is about to make a trine aspect to Saturn.

The nodal axis is about our karmic or soul journey, on the Leo-Aquarius axis we are invited to develop an awareness about the affairs of the house they are placed in in the natal chart or the house they are transiting in. Leo North node concerns individualism, creativity and the “I will” motto, Aquarius is much more outgoing and wants to share its goals with the groups, it carries the “I know” motto.

Moon conjunct Uranus in Taurus, our emotions may become unstable when we are faced with our physical limitations, opposite Sun-Venus in Scorpio who want to fascinate and charm using will-power only. We can merely hope that the trine to Saturn by the Moon will help us accept and even build upon those limitations keeping in check the more unruly reactions caused by Uranus.

The secret with Grand Crosses is to try to make the four points of the Cross interact and work together harmoniously, however, Fixed modality Grand Crosses find change and seeing other’s points of view rather challenging. Something to bear in mind if we begin to feel a little frazzled.

Falling on the Taurus-Scorpio axis, 2-8 houses, the Moon-Sun opposition highlights our values vs the values we share with others, peace vs emotional storms, material comfort vs emotional drama etc.

Full Moons put the spotlight on the darker side of life, where we need to question our motivations and recognize if we are coming from a place of love for ourselves (Taurus) or suspicion and jealousy (Scorpio). It poses the question of what needs to be understood and transformed and what needs to be kept versus what we need to let go of. The Taurus-Scorpio axis with the Moon occurring in Taurus means that Scorpio is the dark side with all its trust issues and its penchant for drama and jealousy whilst Taurus indicates that awareness of love and comfort is the way out of Scorpio’s dilemma.

Raven Kaldera in his book “Moon Phase Astrology” calls this Full Moon the

“Earth Mother’s Moon”

According to him, it’s a time when we should take care of our body and the physical (not emotional) needs of others. We could ask ourselves on this Moon questions such as: “Am I eating healthily?”, “Do I need a medical check-up?”, “Am I sleeping enough?” “Do I feel good at skin-level with my clothes or does fashion prevail over my comfort?” “Am I getting enough hugs and regular body contact from my loved ones?” On this Moon we need to find the answers to the above questions and fix what is not working.

Most interested in this lunation will be those with planets or angles at 0-4° Taurus or Scorpio and the antiscion point of 28°47’° Leo in their birth chart which is the degree of the Royal Star Regulus.

The Sabian symbol for the Moon at 2° Taurus is: “An electrical storm.” (How apt with the conjunction to Uranus!!) The symbol indicates the cosmic power able to transform all the implications of natural existence.

For the Sun at 2° Scorpio: “A delicate bottle of perfume lies broken, releasing its fragrance”. (Again so perfect for the conjunction to Venus!) The symbol indicates the accidental nature of opportunities that impel one to break away from a past, the remembrance of which is still poignant and cherished.
