SATURN STATIONS DIRECT The last station of Saturn in Pisces – have we learned any lessons?
Saturn will end its annual retrograde period on 27-28 November, to station direct at 25°09’ Pisces (antiscion 04°51’ Libra) in an exact to the minute trine aspect to the Jupiter station retrograde in Cancer which took place on 11 November this year. This aspect is still in force and there is a Grand Water trine formed by the Saturn-Neptune R trine Jupiter R trine Mercury R-Venus. Too many (Jupiter R) poisonous (Venus in Scorpio) words (Mercury) R have the ability (Saturn) to confuse and delude (Saturn-Neptune R in Pisces) us with sweet talk (Mercury R-Ven us).
Saturn entered 25° Pisces at the end of October and will remain on this degree until the end of December leaving Pisces permanently on 13-14 February 2026. Those with natal planets or angles between 20-30° degrees of the Mutable signs will probably have some Saturnian issues going on during this time. Will despairing and crying finally be a thing of the past when Saturn enters Aries in mid-February next year?
In Pisces, the Saturnian “rigidity” and “sternness” might feel uncomfortable and the terror of losing oneself in chaos or in the incomprehensible could become very real. Abandoning boundaries and letting oneself “go” are definitely not Saturnian concepts. On the other hand, Saturn in Pisces could lead to a sort of compulsive self-sacrifice connected to deep feelings of guilt. Perhaps the secret of Saturn in Pisces is learning or accepting to be humble.
When Saturn turned retrograde it slow ed down the normal speed of everyday things in order for us to be able to develop better procedures and tactics in our lives. Saturn provides us with the rules and regulations with which we guide ourselves, our sense of responsibility and our limits. Saturn defines boundaries, so what better time than its annual retrograde period to determine the possible from the impossible in our lives? Look to the house axis that this retrograde involves and ask yourself if you have made progress or come to some kind of conclusion in this area of your life.
At the start and at the end of each retrograde period the planet gradually slows down almost to a halt. Mainly affected by this retrograde will have been those charts having planets or angles between 30-22° degrees of the Mutable signs (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius and Pisces).
For the Mutable signs at the above-mentioned degrees, this may have been either a very rewarding or a rather trying time…as always it depends on you to direct the energy and how the planet is placed by house and aspects in your own chart.
During this retrograde you will indeed have had the opportunity to renegotiate and review any past activities or commitments that have been a source of frustration for you. Having had a chance to tie up loose ends and finish uncompleted tasks in the matters of the house it is transiting in as well as perhaps having said “NO” to others if this meant a big “YES” for you!
The late American astrologer, Noel Tyl, writes that the Saturn retrograde is a pause for responsibility, there is a disruption in what ideally is expected in the development process, with a sense of incompleteness.
In horary astrology when a planet stations to turn retrograde it is likened to a man taking to his sick bed, when the planet later stations to turn direct it is likened to a man getting up from his sick bed and slowing getter better.
This certainly hasn’t been the best period for embarking on new endeavours that require time and long commitment but now all this is changing as the planet slowly revs up to his normal speed.
It’s an old astrological saying that if you take care of Saturn in your chart, the rest of your chart will take care of itself. This means that if you are able to grasp the lessons of Saturn—its sign, its house placement and the house it rules then you will have the basis for understanding your whole natal chart. It is also believed that Saturn transits get “easier to handle” with age.
The Sabian symbol for 26° Pisces: “Watching the very thin Moon crescent appear at sunset, different people realise that the time has come to go ahead with their different projects.” Indicating a keen appreciation of the value of individualised responses to any challenge of life.
For the antiscion at 05° Libra: “A man revealing to his students the foundation of an inner knowledge upon which a “new world” could be built. Indicating the necessity for the youthful spirits to learn from a Teacher who through his long experience has been able to reach sold and illuminating truths, i.e. “seed ideas”.
“You must welcome change as the rule but not as your ruler.” Denis Waitley
