PARTIAL SOLARE ECLIPSE IN VIRGO Are all the details out in the open?
There will be a New Moon and a partial Solar Eclipse at 29°05’ Virgo. a Mutable, Earth sign ruled by Mercury (antiscion 00°55’ Aries). This is the second New Moon in Virgo during this Lunar month. The Lunar nodes in the New Moon chart are stationary; many believe that charts in which the nodes are stationing indicate a very important time that maybe a game changer.
The lunation chart has only one planet in the Fire Element and five in the Mutable Modality. Being flexible is useful but you need enthusiasm and intuition to avoid any obstacles.
The New Moon is antiscion Neptune R, no-one (leaders and people) seems to have clarity, Moon in particular being // both Neptune and Mercury (dispositor of the New Moon) seems to be in a complete mind fuzz about what to believe or say. The New Moon is also opposite Saturn R which will hopefully act as a safeguard against any rash behaviour since both Sun and Moon are peregrine in Virgo and as such neither really know what they are doing.
Mercury, dispositor of the lunation, is in Libra and also peregrine, so no help from that corner either for the New Moon. It is also a South Node Eclipse further adding misfortune to the lunation chart. The Uranus R trine OOB Pluto R is still in place but the sextile to both is only with Neptune R and no longer with Saturn R (I do not use out-of-sign aspects). Sudden disruption (Uranus R) which could bring chaos (Pluto R) around communications (Air signs involved) and a lot of deception or dreams about grandeur is also a possible addition to this mix (Neptune R in Aries). This trine-sextile aspect between the outer planets will be alimented by the Moon quickly followed by the Sun as each planet enters Libra and forms an opposition aspect to Neptune R and consequently a Grand Air Trine to Uranus R and Pluto R. Sadly it looks like we could all have a hand in putting out misinformation and deceptive manoeuvres.
Mars is on the brink of changing signs and gaining essential dignity in Scorpio and will become the apex of a yod (or finger of God) once the sign change is completed, the base is the Uranus R sextile Neptune R. Mars is // the Fixed Star Spica which according to Ptolemy is of the nature of Venus and Mars and can give popular social success or be violent and rigid in dispute. Could Mars act as a catalyst to bring together groups of people with the same convictions so that they might work in a coordinated way? Obviously, this could go either way involving groups with good or bad intentions but let’s hope they are those with good intentions for the welfare of all.
The house axis involved in this lunation is the 6th-12th, Virgo-Pisces involving such matters as discrimination vs universality, order vs chaos and criticism vs compassion. The New Moon will involve those persons with planets/angles between 30-25° of the mutable signs (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius and Pisces).
New Moons are times when the Sun and Moon are conjoined in the identical degree of the same sign and this causes the Moon to remain hidden from our view.
It’s a great moment to set intentions for the coming month regarding the matters of the house where it falls in our natal chart. These lunations can be seen as moments of “seeding”.
“The New Moon, of course, is in the sign of the Sun, and the double emphasis on that sign is said to have meaning in terms of what we experience that month. The Sun’s sign now given extra emphasis by the addition of the Moon, is a seasonal theme.” Author M.K. Simms reminds us in her book “Moon Tides, Soul Passages.
Whilst astrologer Raven Kaldera calls this the
“Maiden’s Moon”
during which we are invited to search solace in solitude rather than desperately trying to fill the room with other auras.
In Virgo, the New Moon focusses on our welfare (both physical and mental) and asks us to choose between what nurtures us and what harms or poisons us (Neptune) giving order to the chaos (Pisces) that surrounds us.
Solar Eclipses repeat close to the same degree and sign every 19 years and usually indicate major endings and new beginnings.
The last Solar Eclipse at 29° Virgo took place on 22 September 2006 although it belonged to the Saros cycle 8 South* whilst the present eclipse belongs to the Saros cycle 9 New South* like the Lunar eclipse which took place earlier this month. According to Bernadette Brady this eclipse series heralds the surfacing of news which will have a sense of destiny or fate to it. So, this could well be a
“a constructive time for tackling the truth”.
So, what was going on in your life back in 2006?
It is a partial eclipse and will be visible from New Zealand, plus a thin strip of Australia’s eastern coast, various Pacific islands, and parts of Antarctica. Although the UTC date of the eclipse in September 21, New Zealanders will see the eclipse at sunrise on September 22.
Eclipses occur when the Moon is conjunct or near conjunction to its own Node. Solar Eclipses occur on New Moons and Lunar Eclipses occur on Full Moons.
Eclipses are considered to be Uranian in their nature
due to the unexpected events
that often mark the period leading up to and during the event.
Those people with planets and angles in the mutable signs of Virgo, Sagittarius, Pisces and Gemini will be the most affected.
A total dissolution or cleaning up of past approaches inherent to the matters of the house axis where the Eclipse falls in our chart may occur during an eclipse. Sometimes a crisis might arise that demands our complete attention and although this may be very upsetting at first it is a way of compelling us to release and let go of whatever is holding us on to past, no longer useful behaviour.
Eclipses can also mark times of sudden insights
and unexpected opportunities
that wake us up to new possibilities.
Solar Eclipses can also affect our physical and mental vitalities, and this eclipse in particular could do so since it involves the health-oriented sign of Virgo who seeks bodily perfection and which is ruled by Mercury who is prone to over-worrying here.
The Sabian symbol for 30° Virgo: “Totally intent upon completing an immediate task, a man is deaf to any allurement.” Indicating the total concentration required for reaching any spiritual goal.
For the antiscion at 01° Aries: “A woman just risen from the sea. A seal is embracing her.” Indicating the emergence of new forms and of the potentiality of consciousness.
“People don’t want to hear the truth because they don’t want their illusions destroyed”. F. Nietszche
