OOB MERCURY MOVES INTO CAPRICORN….a suddenly serious mood as the year begins
Today, OOB Mercury barges out of Sagittarius with the usual bluntness and awkwardness that often characterises his sojourn there and bounces into Capricorn. After fun-loving Sagittarius this will certainly hit him with force, dampening his mood and deepening his thoughts and encouraging all of us to think, plan and talk in a much more serious fashion.
Mercury’s first encounter is an opposition aspect with a retrograde Jupiter in Cancer (19°34’) on 14 January whilst the planet is about to return in bounds inviting us to ponder our thoughts and speech more profoundly, it’s also a warning not to be hasty in order to avoid any incidents. As Mercury moves towards the end of Capricorn there is a conjunction on the 17-18 January with Mars (26°03) swiftly followed by a sextile to Saturn in Pisces (27°27’) on 18-19 January, a trine aspect to Uranus R in Taurus (27°34’) on19 January and finally a sextile to Neptune in Pisces (29°51’) on 20 January. Rash movements or words (Mercury-Mars) may be mellowed or stopped in their tracks (sextile to Saturn) but not without a lot of fuss and disruption due to the trine to Uranus R which is simultaneously sextile Saturn and Neptune, Mercury ‘s end of the stay meetup with Neptune R by sextile could leave us with a sense of delusion about how things turn out.
