NEW MOON IN PISCES
How can we see clearly?
There will be a New Moon at 09°41’ Pisces (antiscion 20°19’ Libra), a Mutable, Water sign ruled by Neptune (modern) and Jupiter (traditional). This is the fourth of five New Moons on the same degree of the relative signs.
New Moons are notoriously the best moment to set fresh intentions for the month ahead. This one falls on the 12th-6th house axis (Pisces-Virgo) so themes such as chaos vs order, compassion vs criticism and wholeness vs perfection come to mind.
The New Moon is part of five-planet (Sun, Moon, Saturn, Mercury, Neptune) rendezvous in Pisces with North Node sandwiched in between Mercury and Neptune. Mars, still almost stationary and OOB, is in the Water sign of Cancer making an applying trine to Saturn and Mercury. The two malefics, Mars and Saturn, the first in triplicity and fall in Cancer and OOB, the second peregrine in Pisces, seem to be in cahoots to show their worst side, particularly so since Mars is antiscion Jupiter, traditional dispositor of the New Moon and also separating from a square aspect to the lunation adding restlessness and uncertainty to an already explosive and very emotional situation which could have an extra dose of spite enmeshed in it. Added to the abundance of the Water element in the lunation chart is also an excess of Mutable modality, reiterating the effects delineated in the previous sentence.
Venus is applying a square to Mars in Cancer, the battle between sexes with mistrust on both parts implies emotionally charged relationships and arguments.
Neptune’s proximity to the North Node (and the larger orb with Mercury-NN) may bring out news of an uplifting and futuristic quality which may or may not come from reliable sources.
Raven Kaldera in his book “Moon Phase Astrology” calls this new Moon the “Dreamer’s Moon”.
He goes on to describe this Moon as “a reflection of Neptune’s influence on the Moon resulting in people who never quite know where all their edges are, barely able to figure out what is real from what is imaginary.” On this Moon he suggests that we use the time for (day)-dreaming since our strength at this moment is now in believing that our wishes can come true.
This New Moon chart also continues to stimulate Mr T’s chart as already expounded upon in my recent article “Mars Stations Direct”.
The Sabian Symbol for 10° Pisces is: “An aviator pursues his journey, flying through ground-obscuring clouds.” Indicating man’s ability to develop powers and skills which by transcending natural limitations allow him to operate in mental-spiritual realms.
For the antiscion point at 21° Libra: “A Sunday crowd enjoying the beach.” Indicating a revivifying contact with the mother-force of nature and of social togetherness.
Let’s remember: “When you reach the end of what you should know, you will be at the beginning of what you should sense.” Kahlil Gibran, Sand and Foam
