MERCURY STATIONS DIRECT IN PISCES
Is the fog lifting? Doubt it!
On 7 April Mercury will station direct at 26°49’ Pisces (antiscion 03°11’ Libra), a direct station after three weeks of retrograde is usually a cause for a huge sigh of relief from many of us (the larger part of the retrograde period was spent in Aries). Unfortunately, not so this time since Mercury stations direct in a tight separating conjunction to both Saturn and Venus R, closely sextile Uranus also to a trine to Mars. Mercury is also on the degree of the nodes making it one of the most important planets in the chart of the direct station.
Looks like communications, plans, journeys and all things Mercury related (including tricky characters) might come over initially as being responsible (Saturn) and nice (Venus) but they also could be of a shocking, unexpected nature (Uranus) and very hastily brought about since they could be based on feelings with all that Water element involved (Mars).
Mercury entered Pisces on the 29/30 March so by now we should be aware if not accustomed to the dreamy nature of this sign – have you been feeling mentally fuzzy too and wondering just how thick can the fog really get?
The persons most affected by this latter period of the retrograde will have been those with planets and/or angles between 29-24° Gemini and Virgo as well as the other two mutable signs of Sagittarius and Pisces.
Gemini and Virgo, both ruled by Mercury, may have responded differently to the signs their ruling planet moved through on its apparent journey backwards. Virgo, being an Earth sign, mixes more willingly with the Watery signs, acting as a container for them and since Virgo forms an opposition to Pisces, there is often common ground upon which to work out a compromise upon. Gemini, an Air sign, finds the Water signs very confusing and Pisces particularly so since they face each other at 90° in the zodiac, Air signs are rational, emotions disturb them, Water signs are empathetic they understand reason and logic with great difficulty so this retrograde will certainly have been harder for Gemini than Virgo.
I can personally vouch for Geminis having had a harder time during this retrograde, for me, events have taken weird and unexpected turns over the last month and thinking over them has only come up with other impracticable or non-solutions. It seems that the harder I try to unravel things the more complicated they seem to become. How have you been coping with this period?
The Sabian symbol for 27° Pisces: “The harvest Moon illumines a clear autumnal sky.” Indicating the light of fulfilment that blesses work well done.
For the antiscion at 04° Libra: “Around a campfire a group of young people sit in spiritual communion.” Indicating the necessity to unite with kindred spirits as one enters unbeaten paths illumined by the still insecure light of a dawning intuition of new values.
“Nebulat ergo cogito.” Umberto Eco
Was your chart involved in this Mercury retrograde period?
