….“The Storyteller’s Moon”
On the 3rd of December there will be a Full Moon at 11°40’ Gemini, as we all know, full moons are when matters that have been simmering under the surface emerge to be dealt with. This lunation occurs on the 3rd-9th house axis (Gemini-Sagittarius) in traditional astrology; how I think vs how they think, short trips vs long journeys, reason vs intuition etc. Both signs are concerned with gathering and spreading knowledge as well as education and travel.
It will most affect those with planets or angles in Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius and Pisces between 10-14°.
So this Full Moon highlights the connection between our beliefs and dreams and real life and brings up questions such as “What part am I playing in my life?”, “Which archetypes am I manifesting?”, “How much control do I have over these matters?”.
There are also some interesting aspects going on in the sky.
The Sun-Moon opposition will exactly square transiting Neptune at 11°30’ in Pisces which in turn will be in an exact trine to Jupiter in Scorpio.
The pursuit of knowledge (Gem-Sag) may transcend reality (Pisces) and enter the realm of fantasy (Neptune) or our emotions (Moon) could be desensitized by too much logic (Gemini). Either way it’s a question of learning (Sagittarius) to trust (Jupiter) what we can’t see (Neptune) and accept that deep emotions (Scorpio) may surface which we are unable to process in a logical and straightforward way (Saturn-Mercury).
It could all become rather confusing and blurry especially since Moon’s dispositor, Mercury, has only just turned retrograde and is still OOB (out-of-bounds) giving it a “wild card” status in a rather double fashion. Mercury is also backing into a second exact conjunction with Saturn adding perhaps a rather pessimistic tone to Sagittarian truth. The Sun’s dispositor, Jupiter, is playing into the T-square formed by the Lights and Neptune. Mutable energy does have the plus however of being flexible…let’s use this drive to navigate the period as best as we can.
Author Raven Kaldera in his book “Moon Phase Astrology” calls this Full Moon in Gemini
“The Storyteller’s Moon”
He writes that this is an excellent time to enjoy a good book or movie, to sit around with friends confiding your life story or to start a diary where you jot down your most intimate and heartfelt truths about yourself.
Pagan tradition has it that this lunation is known as the
“Cold moon”
“The approach of cold weather in the Northern Hemisphere gives this month’s full moon its name. Once again a wonderful moon for turning your attention to home, especially ritual space.”
Sabian symbol for the Moon at 12° Gemini: “A negro girl fights for her independence in the city.” Indicating the liberation from the ghosts of the past.
For the Sun at 12° Sagittarius: “A flag turns into an eagle, the eagle into a chanticleer saluting the dawn.” Indicating the spiritualization and promotion of great symbols of a New Age by minds sensitive to its precursory manifestations.
“False eloquence is exaggeration, true eloquence is emphasis.” W. R. Alger
