NEW MOON IN PISCES It’s all about seeing things as they really are.
The sixth and last of a series of six New Moons at 28° of the relative signs (including the recent Solar Eclipse at 28° Aquarius), this lunation will be at 28° 27’ Pisces (antiscion 01°33’ Libra).
New Moons are notoriously the best moment to set fresh intentions for the month ahead. This one falls on the 12th-6th house axis (Pisces-Virgo) so themes such as chaos vs order, compassion vs criticism and wholeness vs perfection come to mind.
A Mutable modality Moon is always restless by nature, and the Pisces Moon is also highly creative and sensitive, often with mediumistic qualities.
The five planets in the Water signs confirm the emotional nature of this New Moon and with only one planet each in Earth and Air practical ideas that can be used to plan a better future seem to be sadly lacking. However, the four planets each in the Cardinal and Mutable modalities show determination to move on as well as being flexible.
The separating sextile to Uranus may have caused greater uncertainty and upset as to how to move forward as we are forced out of our comfort zone.
Jupiter, dispositor of this New Moon has recently turned direct in motion and is exalted in the sign of Cancer. Cancer is about home and also about defending our home, but it can also be manipulative among many other interpretations. Jupiter expands all these traits but often exaltation means overstepping limits and not knowing when to stop particularly since Mars is applying a trine aspect to Jupiter and is also in a sign ruled by Jupiter. Jupiter is also c// Pluto, exaggerating with power, misuse of power, uncovering secrets or even hiding secrets.
Mercury and Mars are parallel and both straddling the South Node, a configuration which might indicate not respecting other peoples’ opinions or asserting oneself in either a tactful or menacing manner by using the same tried and tested means (South Node) which could also indicate bullying. Old methods need to be re-invented since they will no longer work. Mercury is on the degree of the nodes thus making it an important player in the lunation but it is retrograde and in detriment and fall in Pisces so it will probably act in its most malevolent form (liar, cheater, thief etc).
Neptune is contra-antiscion the lunation, nobody appears to have clear ideas about how warfare is to be played since the rules (Saturn in Pisces conjunct Neptune) seem to be blurry.
For the less spiritually inclined it’s still an excellent moment for reading a good book, listening to your favourite music or just day-dreaming and, why not, thinking about how those fantasies and dreams could become reality.
Raven Kaldera in his book “Moon Phase Astrology” calls this new Moon
the “Dreamer’s Moon”
He goes on to describe this Moon as “a reflection of Neptune’s influence on the Moon resulting in people who never quite know where all their edges are, barely able to figure out what is real from what is imaginary.” On this Moon he suggests that we use the time for (day)-dreaming since our strength at this moment is now in believing that our wishes can come true.
The Sabian symbol for 29° Pisces: “Light breaking into many colours as it passes through a prism.” Indicating the analytical power of the mind necessary for the formulation of life processes in their many aspects.
For 02° Libra: “The transmutation of the fruits of past experiences into the seed-realisations of the forever creative spirit.” Indicating a repolarisation of inner energies leading to a creative centralisation of consciousness.
“In dreams we enter a world that’s entirely our own.” Albus Dumbledore
