• VENUS CONJUNCT JUPITER IN SCORPIO ON 13TH NOVEMBER 2017

  • happiness at all costs?

Venus conjoins Jupiter at 7°20’ Scorpio, the lesser and the greater Benefic together. Per sé this isn’t really a big deal since it happens approximately once a year, what is particular this time, and therefore more outstanding, is that the two planets are also parallel to each other at 13° South of the celestial equator* adding more strength to the conjunction (1). When planets are parallel in declination they also act as if in conjunction reinforcing the “togetherness” of the aspect.

What do you deeply love, what makes you happy, where are you greedy?

We should also consider the antiscion degree of 7°20’ Scorpio which is 22°40’ Aquarius since both these degrees will be noteworthy of attention if you have planets or angles there in your birth chart. Also look to natal placements of Venus and Jupiter and the houses they rule in your chart.

Some other important transiting aspects are also in orb at this time:

Saturn trine retrograde Uranus at 25° Sagittarius-Aries: find a creative balance, blend tradition with innovation.

Moon opposite Chiron at 24° Virgo-Pisces: allow yourself to feel the hurt and let go.

OOB Mercury (1) square retrograde Neptune at 11° Sagittarius-Pisces: illusions might lead you into trouble but daydreaming about your fantasies could be uplifting.

It’s going to be a busy day, is your chart involved in these transits?

    Bibliography

    (1) When we cast an astrological chart we use a precise locality (birth place) on the earth and from this observation point we take note of the position of the planets in the sky at the time of birth and this enables us to calculate the angles that the planets form to the given locality. Another point of reference however is the celestial equator (which is the terrestrial equator elongated into space). When planets travel beyond 23°27’ either side of the celestial equator, be it North or South, they are referred to as “out of bounds”.

OOB planets can also be found in birth charts and special attention should be paid to them since they are considered “stronger”.

*A special thanks to Wendy Guy for bringing this up and to Marij Norden for the declinations graph I used for the info. Both are admins of the FB page “Astrological Declinations and OOB objects” a wonderful source of information for those fascinated by declinations, please ask to join if you’re interested in this particular subject!
