……time to move on with optimism
There will be a New Moon at 7°43’ of Sagittarius on November 29th.
On New Moons we set our intentions for the month ahead and this one in particular offers the Sagittarian perspective on our destiny and our relationship with the universe.
The New Moon is on the 9th-3rd (Sagittarius-Gemini) axis of the traditional zodiac and involves such matters as; seeing the whole picture vs only having scattered information, intuition vs reason, long vs short journeys, morality vs amorality, wisdom vs knowledge etc.
Sagittarius is a Fire sign and Gemini is an Air sign yet they both belong to the Mutable modality in which flexibility is the key word. Sagittarius deals with more intuitive and abstract thought processes whilst Gemini has a more analytical and concrete view of the world. Both houses are involved with learning and teaching but from different perspectives.
In his book “Moon Phase Astrology” author Raven Kaldera calls this Moon “the Gypsy’s Moon”. On this Moon he invites us to go out and experience new cultures and ideas, with the aim of stretching our abilities to accept all things foreign in order to challenge ourselves and our own prejudices. What better way to do this than travelling which can provide excellent points of view upon which to reflect when the journey is over. So, rather than just reading about new places it would be better to experience these in person on your own skin so as to say.
Particularly interested in this New Moon will be those persons with planets or angles between 6-9° of the mutable signs (Sagittarius, Pisces, Gemini and Virgo) and on the antiscion point of 22°17’ Capricorn.
Jupiter, the ruler of Sagittarius has recently moved into the ultra-balanced, relationship sign of Libra (or from the eternal sitting-on-the-fence and the grass is greener on the other side if we want to express its more negative side!) from where, on November 24th, it made an exact square to Pluto in Capricorn. This is the first of three waning squares that these planets will make to each other and it occurs at 15°46’. Here there is a potential to gain (Jupiter) power (Pluto) providing that we are willing to challenge our beliefs (Jupiter) releasing (Pluto) those that stand in our way of transformation (Pluto). We might find an unwavering faith that could give us tremendous power or we could be put to test in an epic and, perhaps not particularly pleasant, transformational way. Let’s also not forget that Uranus and Eris are still in this equation too, opposing Jupiter and still loosely squaring Pluto adding an unpredictable touch to it all.
The Sun and Moon are squaring the transiting Lunar nodal axis where Neptune is also conjunct the South Node. Sagittarius seeks the truth through study, travel and adventure, Pisces finds it in emotions, stillness and Universal love. Neptune at 9° Pisces is also opposite the degree of the September 1st Solar eclipse (9° Virgo) and the Sun will square this point on November 30th. Have you noticed any change in your life (even from an interior, more personal point of view) during the last three months?
The Sabian symbol for 8 Sagittarius: “Within the depths of the Earth, new elements are being formed.” Indicating the alchemical fire which both purifies and transforms the very substance of man’s inner life.
On this New Moon our motto could be:
But I suppose the most revolutionary act one can engage in is… to tell the truth.”
Howard Zinn, Marx in Soho: A Play on History
Any tales to tell about this New Moon? Any plans?
