OOB FULL MOON IN CAPRICORN

The Full Moon will occur at 08°15’ in the serious, ambitious sign of Capricorn (antiscion 21°45’ Sagittarius) and has the flavour of the 4th-10th house axis (Cancer-Capricorn), the intimate versus the public, home versus work/career, fluidity versus rigidity etc.

An emotionally dry Full Moon in Capricorn with its dispositor Saturn in fall in Aries in a separating trine with Venus, and an approaching square from Moon and Sun. The OOB status will only highlight the Moon’s inability to function normally. The lunation itself is separating from a Cardinal T-square formation with Neptune whilst applying a T-square aspect to Saturn,  there will certainly have been some uncertainty in both the Sun (leaders) and the Moon (people) in the days preceding the Full Moon but in the days afterwards we may find some clarity, be this in the need to continue fighting or in a fear of what continuing battles may bring. Neptune, itself, is in an ongoing sextile both to Uranus and Pluto R. Mars is applying a conjunction to Uranus and Mars, Uranus and Jupiter are all parallel to each other, Sun is c-parallel Pluto. Mundane matters continue to remain extremely volatile as a seemingly new (world) order is rapidly approaching, be this for good or bad. The Sun is ruled by the Moon, perhaps our voice will finally be listened to.

The lunation chart itself has 3 planets each in Air, Fire and Water and only 1 in Earth (Moon), are our actions based only on intuition, emotion and planning for the future whatever without considering the practical side? There is a heavy presence of planets in the Cardinal signs indicating the desire for action whilst Fixed and Mutable modalities are well balanced with 2 planets each.

The Full Moon is also the time to reap rewards for past endeavors, things undertaken at the last New Moon. It signals the climax of a cycle when our energy is at its peak and when the time is ripe for the harvest.

Raven Kaldera in his book “Moon Phase Astrology” calls this moon the “Grandmother’s Moon”. The Grandmother is the head of her family, clan or tribe and she rules all blood relatives and cares for them intensely.

Under this Moon we may feel older, wiser and a little more rigid, it’s the destiny of Capricorn to embody maturity and this Full Moon is the archetype of the Elder in all her fullness.

So, under this Moon we may honour our family elders (both living and dead) and our focus will turn to our close relatives. It’s a time to get organized and to take responsibility also at an emotional level.

The Sabian symbol for the Moon at 09° Capricorn: “An angel carrying a harp.” Indicating the revelation of the spiritual meaning and purpose of any life situation.

For the Moon’s antiscion at 22° Sagittarius: “A Chinese laundry.” Making use of one’s special racial-cultural background in order to survive and prosper in an alien environment.

For the Sun at 09° Cancer: “A small, naked girl bends over a pond trying to catch a fish.” Indicating the first native quest for knowledge and for an ever-elusive understanding of life.

For the Sun’s antiscion at 22° Gemini: “Dancing couples in a harvest festival.” The wholesome enjoyment of organic processes and emotional drives.
