and Venus glides into Scorpio where it may take a tumble…..
On the 9th of this month there will be a New Moon at 17°0’ Virgo, a Mutable, Earth sign ruled by Mercury which is also presently transiting this sign.
The New Moon is closing in on a sextile to Jupiter in Scorpio and to a trine aspect with Pluto retrograde in Capricorn. Expanding on our ideas might help transform our routine in a very practical way so as to benefit health-wise too. This is actually a very good time to reconsider our personal well-being, does our diet need correcting, do we need to get more exercise, are we in the right mood for cleaning up the clutter (inside and outside ourselves)?
The house axis involved in this lunation is the 6th-12th, Virgo-Pisces involving such matters as discrimination vs universality, order vs chaos and criticism vs compassion. The New Moon will involve those persons with planets/angles between 15-19° of the mutable signs (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius and Pisces).
New Moons are times when the Sun and Moon are conjoined in the identical degree of the same sign and this causes the Moon to remain hidden from our view.
It’s a great moment to set intentions for the coming month regarding the matters of the house where it falls in our natal chart. These lunations can be seen as moments of “seeding”.
“The New Moon, of course, is in the sign of the Sun, and the double emphasis on that sign is said to have meaning in terms of what we experience that month. The Sun’s sign now given extra emphasis by the addition of the Moon, is a seasonal theme.” Author M.K. Simms reminds us in her book “Moon Tides, Soul Passages.
Whilst astrologer Raven Kaldera calls this the
“Maiden’s Moon”
during which we are invited to search solace in solitude rather than desperately trying to fill the room with other auras.
In Virgo, the New Moon focusses on our welfare (both physical and mental) and asks us to choose between what nurtures us and what harms or poisons us (Neptune) giving order to the chaos (Pisces) that surrounds us.
The Sabian symbol for 17° Virgo: “A volcanic eruption.” Indicating the explosive energy of long-repressed contents of the subconscious.
For the antiscion point of 13° Aries: “An unexploded bomb reveals an unsuccessful social protest.” Indicating an immature evaluation of the possibility of transforming suddenly the status quo.
This New Moon is exactly opposite my natal Moon, can I regard this as a very personal lunar eclipse LOL?
In which house will this New Moon fall in your chart?
