TOTAL SOLAR ECLIPSE IN SAGITTARIUS
There will be a total Solar eclipse at 12°21’ Sagittarius (antiscion 17°39’ Capricorn) on the 3-4 December, depending upon where you are in the world. It will be visible in Antarctica, South America, South Africa and Australia. This is the last of the eclipses in the Mutable signs, next year (as per the Nodes) the eclipses will be in Fixed signs.
The Moon will be perigee (closest to the Earth thus having more pull (effects) on tidal and seismic activity).
Dispositor of the eclipse is Jupiter, peregrine in Aquarius, a hot moist planet in a hot moist sign could indicate very heavy rain or snow falls (Saturn ruled sign) in North America and North Europe in the days surrounding the eclipse. Mars is also applying a close square to Jupiter and this could add a lot of intensity to the meteorological phenomenon.
Although separating from the eclipse degree, Mercury, combust and OOB is nevertheless close to the lunation, over-the top news about legal problems, foreign or religious affairs could be at the forefront in the days previous to the eclipse. This combustion could also indicate important news being kept hidden.
Venus OOB is closing in to conjoin Pluto in Capricorn, monetary values may undergo a devastating transformation and with the separating sextile of both planets to Neptune in Pisces there’ll surely be a lot of confusion if not deceit concerning stocks and currencies and dreams of getting rich quickly may rapidly dissolve. Ever more so since Venus will turn retrograde at 26°29’ Capricorn in mid-December, transiting Pluto and Neptune for 3 times…this may not be nice ride for those who have heavily invested in the stock exchange/foreign or crypto currencies.
The on-going Saturn-Uranus square is getting tighter as the two planets prepare for the last exact square at 11°06’ on Christmas Eve! This could underline once more the possibility of important seismic activity around the days of the eclipse and those when the Moon or Sun square the eclipse degree or when Mars conjoins the eclipse degree at the end of the year. The square could also herald a sudden collapse of social behaviour or rules as we now know them with a rise to power of a new type of leader less humanitarian than one might wish for (totally unexpected or perhaps not so, but a nevertheless a very sudden event).
On an elemental level the eclipse chart is well-balanced but lacks in Cardinal modality, the urge to move is held back by the 4 planets in the Fixed signs as we consider the options (4 planets in Mutable).
The last Solar eclipse at 12° Sagittarius was on the 4th December 2002, what was going on in your life then?
This eclipse will mostly concern people with planets or angles between 7-15° of the Mutable signs of Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius and Pisces, BUT eclipses have wild-card characteristics and sometimes, even if your natal chart is involved, they do not manifest in your life through noticeable events.
According to astrologer Bernadette Brady, the effects of solar eclipses are more external and deal with events that surround the person, that is, they bring in events that we ourselves have not precipitated. Eclipses are spotlights that shine on our life-path, they catch you in mid-action illuminating that area of your life (house) in which they occur. Whatever has been shoved aside or ignored will turn up for your attention and this could be experienced as dramatic and emotional whilst at the same time giving you the opportunity to deal with it, or not, it depends entirely on you.
In his book “Moon Phase Astrology” author Raven Kaldera calls this Moon “the Gypsy Moon”. On this Moon he invites us to go out and experience new cultures and ideas, with the aim of stretching our abilities to accept all things foreign in order to challenge ourselves and our own prejudices. What better way to do this than travelling which can provide excellent points of view upon which to reflect when the journey is over. So, rather than just reading about new places it would be better to experience these in person on your own skin so as to say.
The Sabian symbol for 13° Sagittarius: “A widow’s past is brought to light.” Indicating the karma of past actions as it affects opportunities presented by a new cycle.
For the antiscion at 18° Capricorn: “The Union Jack flag flies from a British warship.” Indicating the protection afforded to individuals and groups by powerful institutions in charge of maintaining order.
“It’s funny. All you have to do is say something nobody understands and they’ll do practically anything you want them to.” J.D. Salinger, the Catcher in the Rye
What is the eclipse affecting in your chart?
