……new beginnings
There will be a New Moon at 26°31’ of Sagittarius on December 18th.
On New Moons we set our intentions for the month ahead and this one in particular offers the Sagittarian perspective on our destiny and our relationship with the universe inviting us to look ahead with optimism.
This particular Lunation will be in close conjunction with Saturn in the very last degree of Sagittarius adding a more serious note to our enthusiasm and cautioning us to be wary about what we ask for!
The New Moon is also almost exactly conjunct the Galactic Centre, that dark hole around which the Milky Way revolves in Outer Space and which is a significant source of creative power in the charts of all of us. However, whilst taking a leap of faith is fantastic maybe risking all for nothing could turn out to be too audacious and less auspicious but then again Saturn could help tame those wilder spirits.
Jupiter, the dispositor of this New Moon and in Scorpio, is just one degree away from an applying square to the Moon’s nodal axis (15° Leo-Aquarius). Perhaps we need to realize some uncomfortable truths about ourselves as we endeavour to resolve the dilemma between shining in our own light or being part of spectators.
In his book “Moon Phase Astrology” author Raven Kaldera calls this Moon “the Gypsy Moon”. On this Moon he invites us to go out and experience new cultures and ideas, with the aim of stretching our abilities to accept all things foreign in order to challenge ourselves and our own prejudices. What better way to do this than travelling which can provide excellent points of view upon which to reflect when the journey is over. So, rather than just reading about new places it would be better to experience these in person on your own skin so as to say.
Particularly interested in this New Moon will be those persons with planets or angles between 25-28° of the mutable signs (Sagittarius, Pisces, Gemini and Virgo) and on the antiscion point of 3°29’ Capricorn.
The Sabian symbol for 27° Sagittarius: “A sculptor at his work” Indicating the ability to project one’s vision upon and to give form to materials.
For its antiscion point 4° Capricorn: “A group of people outfitting a large canoe at the start of a journey by water”. Indicating the ability to use natural resources and basic skills in order to achieve a group purpose.
On this New Moon our motto could be:
“It’s time to care; it’s time to take responsibility; it’s time to lead; it’s time for a change; it’s time to be true to our greatest self; it’s time to stop blaming others.” S. Maraboli, Unapologetically You: Reflections on Life and the Human Experience
What are your intentions for this New Moon?
