NEW MOON IN LIBRA
love and fairness, maybe not
There will be a New Moon at 02°48’ Libra on the 25th September (antiscion 27°12’ Pisces).
Being in Libra, this will be all about relationships and fairness. And being a New Moon of course it could be the start of a new relationship for some or a new beginning in an existing relationship for others but it could also be about any kind of relationship depending on the house where it falls in your chart and the aspect it may or may not make to any personal planets or angles. It could also be a good time to see things from the other person’s point of view, not only what might be missing from the relationship for it to be good for you but also about what you’re bringing to the relationship too…remember, Libra is about fairness and harmony.
The lunation chart has a well-balanced Modality but the Elements are rather lacking in Water and Fire (only one planet in each). So, the highlight will be on rationality and practicality, all at a rather a slow pace with 5 planets retrograde, lets say lots of planning for the future with little empathy or oomph to get things done. The New Moon is also in the very early degrees of Libra, almost as though it’s still learning about the sign’s characteristics.
Dispositor of this New Moon is Venus in Virgo conjunct a retrograde Mercury. Venus isn’t particularly comfortable in Virgo (in her daytime triplicity but also in her fall) but does her best to get by (who doesn’t?) even though the surroundings may not be ideal and plans (Mercury) need to be appealing as well as practical. Mercury R and Venus are also in an applying trine aspect to Pluto adding intensity and perhaps suspicion to our relationships and thoughts but we may be blindsided with Venus c// Neptune and those facts could be inflated, Mercury c// Jupiter.
The New Moon is also opposite a retrograde Jupiter in Aries, this very “me first” Jupiter may make Libran fairness hard to achieve or even make us realise that we may have taken on too much and now is the time to downscale. The ongoing square between Saturn R and Uranus R (both // South Node and hinting to the past) is further ignited by the trine to Saturn from Mars and this could be the trigger (Mars c// Pluto) to many situations including earthquakes as well as even more volatile stock markets and currencies.
In traditional astrology this New Moon falls on the 7th-1st house axis which is about relating to others on a personal basis versus relating to self and trying to find the right balance between the two (which is also about Libra too).
Author, Raven Kaldera, in his book “Moon Phase Astrology” calls this Moon the “White Knight’s Moon” and describes it as putting the focus on justice and discerning right from wrong and according to him this Moon is a great time to examine our ideals and adjust them if necessary.
The Sabian symbol for 3° Libra: “The dawn of a new day reveals everything changed.” Indicating the ever-present possibility of beginning again on a new foundation of values.
For the antiscion point at 28° Pisces: “A tree felled and sawed to ensure a supply of wood for the winter.” Indicating knowledge and skill used in its natural surroundings for the satisfaction of vital basic needs.
And, since Libra is also the sign of indecision and trying to please:
“Those are my principles. If you don’t like them, I have others.” Grouch Marx
