• Last time we looked at the planets which we could say are the main actors in our chart. Now let’s look at the signs which we could think of as the costumes for our planet actors.

    ARIES – the ram

    Aires, the first sign of the zodiac belongs to the fire signs. It is the 1st Cardinal sign and governs the head.

    Aries is full of energy and enthusiasm to do things, it loves challenges and as a Cardinal sign is also loves being the first to take action and this involves sorting out other people’s problems too since they always rush in aid to the needy. To some of the quieter types, the Mars-ruled Aries can seem rather pushy and over-the-top, they have a volatile temperament but soon calm down after exploding! Aries gets bored rather easily so it’s best to keep him busy with a variety of tasks. They are fun to be with but are also constantly on the move looking for new challenges against which to test themselves.

    TAURUS – the bull

    Taurus, the second sign of the zodiac belongs to the earth signs and is the 1st Fixed sign. It governs the throat and neck.
    Taurus is solid, reliable, practical, they make excellent, loyal friends but don’t try to take advantage of their good will because their temper is tremendous. Ruled by Venus, Taurus people love the good life in all its aspects with gourmet eating being at the top of the list quite often. Frequently they are also artistic or creative persons. Being born under a Fixed sign, Taurus people are also very stubborn and once they are convinced they change their mind with difficulty.

    GEMINI – the twins

    Gemini is the third sign of the zodiac and belongs to the Air signs and is the 1st Mutable sign. It governs the arms, hands and lungs.
    Gemini’s, ruled by Mercury, are insatiably curious about everything, without discrimination as to whether the information is actually useful or not. Often a superficial knowledge of a subject is all that is required to appease this curiosity. They love communicating and have a quick mind and often a glib tongue. They are also easily bored and can be accused of shallowness particularly where feelings are concerned since they are motivated more by ideas than by emotions.

    CANCER – the crab

    Cancer is the fourth sign of the zodiac and belongs to the Water signs, it is the 2nd Cardinal sign. It governs the breasts and stomach.
    Cancer, ruled by the Moon, often appears rather introvert and private. As a Cardinal sign however, although subtle, Cancer likes to take action, particularly taking care and nurturing others, especially their own children but it actually could be anyone they perceive of as being in need. Ruled by the ebb and flow of their emotions they are extremely moody. Cancer needs security in the terms of feelings and is very tied to “home” and “Mummy”. By feeding others in fact, it feeds itself and often it can be over-dependent on others for its emotional well-being.

    LEO – the lion

    Leo is the fifth sign of the zodiac and is part of the Fire Signs, it is the 2nd Fixd sign and governs the heart, spine and back.
    Leo is ruled by the Sun and is big and shiny as well as generous, truthful, distinct and individualistic. Belonging to the Fixed signs, Leo is very determined, tell them they can’t do something and they’ll go head over feet to prove the contrary! They love being the centre of attention and mediocrity is a word they prefer to ignore. Leos are also very idealistic and this leads them to suffer more than most when the bubble bursts. They are also very stubborn and do not take easily to change. A little praise and adulation goes a long way if you want to win over a Leo!

    VIRGO – the virgin

    Virgo is the sixth sign of the zodiac and is an Earth sign, it is the 2nd Mutable sign and governs the nervous system and the intestines.
    Virgo, together with Gemini, is ruled by Mercury. Virgo, too, collects information and is curious but only about things or subjects that he can put to use. Virgo is hard-working, versatile and attentive to detail, Virgo loves to be of service and of help to people but is also prone to worry which can translate into digestive or stomach problems. As an Earth sign, Virgo’s are very in touch with the sensual world and are one of the most sexual signs of the zodiac. Obsessed with detail, Virgo’s often miss the “bigger” picture and don’t like to delegate since nobody can do a job like them!

    LIBRA – the scales

    Libra is the seventh sign of the zodiac and is an Air sign, it is the 3rd Cardinal sign and governs the kidneys.
    Libra, together with Taurus, is ruled by Venus and being a Cardinal sign it needs to go out and act, through relationships in this case. Libra’s love harmony and they want people to find a common ground together. They have a strong sense of fairness and are charming and often physically very attractive people. They are very diplomatic and often obtain their own way in things simply by making you believe that it was your idea and not theirs. In arguments, they have a habit of “standing on the fence” and often appear confused and indecisive.

    SCORPIO – the scorpion

    Scorpio is the eighth sign of the zodiac and is a Water sign, it is the 3rd Fixed sign and governs the sexual organs.
    Scorpio is ruled by Mars and Pluto. It is a very intense, passionate sign which emotionally commits to everything it puts its energies into, showing great will-power and determination. They are loyal and reliable as well as being passionate lovers but, if betrayed, they will become your worst nightmare. They are more interested in lasting emotional bonds rather than superficial relationships and they have a ruthless self-discipline which is also expected of others. It is a sign that can achieve almost anything once they’ve put their mind to it.

    SAGITTARIUS – the archer

    Sagittarius, ruled by Jupiter, is optimistic and full of enthusiasm for life. They easily see the big picture in life and are always searching to broaden their horizons. Sagittarians are naturally honest and sometimes this makes them seem rather tactless. More than anything, they need freedom to explore the world, new ideas or new relationships.

    CAPRICORN – the goat

Time and wisdom are its tools and Capricorn uses them to master the world around them. They are usually very reserved and don’t open up easily in relationships. They rarely rely on other people to get ahead in the world.

    AQUARIUS – the water carrier

    Aquarius is the eleventh sign of the zodiac and is an Air sign, the 4th Fixed sign it governs the shins, ankles and circulation.
    Aquarius is ruled by Saturn and Uranus, it is a very social sign and loves being part of a group. Humanitarian activities also appeal greatly to this sign. Being a Fixed sign they are resistant to other people’s rules. Intellectual and clear-thinking, they are often ahead of their times in their ideas. They need to be recognized as individualistic in some way but they try to be fair to all. Hooked on their own ideas they can at times seem stubborn or even fanatical. They feel safest with what can be explained by reason and logic and for this reason sometimes seem cold and aloof when dealing with emotions.

    PISCES – the fishes

    Pisces is the twelfth sign of the zodiac and is a Water sign, it is the 4th Mutable sign and governs the feet.
    Pisces, ruled by Neptune and Jupiter, is a difficult sign to describe since, like a chameleon, it changes appearance and moods to align with whoever it is facing. It can rise to the greatest heights of self-sacrifice or to the lowest depths of depravity. Pisces lives its life through emotions, its own and those of others it encounters. They are often psychic picking up the sensations they sense around them. They explain their emotions with difficulty and thus are often misunderstood. Pisces need time to retreat and re-centre away from outside influences.
