MARS STATIONS RETROGRADE

After a short stay in Leo, Mars stations retrograde at 06°10’ Leo (antiscion 23°49’ Taurus) returning to the sign of Cancer on 06 January 2025 but going OOB on the 30-31 December until 07 April 2025. The retrograde period will end on 23 February at 17°01’ Cancer (antiscion 12°59’ Gemini).

The last time Mars stationed retrograde in Leo was from December 2009 to March 2010 and the last time the planet was retrograde in Cancer was from mid-November to end December 2007.

What was happening in your life then?

During a Mars retrograde period we may feel like our plans backfire, lose momentum or proceed too slowly and this will eventually give us the time to reflect on past choices and actions. It’s important to consider the house involved in the retrograde and the aspects that Mars makes and receives in the natal chart in order to understand more fully how the retrograde will affect each of us.

For the brief retrograde period in Leo, Mars will be peregrine and also OOB for the last part of the stay in Leo. This could produce some ego-problems since the need to be respected may assume rather wavy boundaries.

In Cancer, the planet has dignity by triplicity but it is also in its fall. Here, Mars could defend its tribe in an exaggerated and very mean way. Being retrograde until 23 January and OOB for the whole of its stay in Cancer hints at a peevish, spiteful planet aimed at self-satisfaction rather than altruistic or maternal traits.

02-03/01: opposite Pluto (01°08’ Leo-Aquarius) – tremendous power – yours or someone else’s

06/01: Mars enters Cancer

12/01: trine Neptune (27°29’ Cancer-Pisces) – magnetism and/or scattered energy and tiredness

23/01: sextile Uranus (23°17’ Cancer-Taurus) – an opportunity of freedom for some

25/01: Venus trine Mars (22°25’ Cancer-Pisces) – the power of attraction!

09/02:  trine Saturn (18°22’ Cancer-Pisces) – steady progress if you know where you’re going

23/02: Mercury trine Mars (17°00’ Cancer-Pisces) – argumentative but not too much so

24/02: Mars stations direct at 17°01’ Cancer
