SLOW AND STEADY WHEN MERCURY RIDES THE BULL….
Mercury enters Taurus on the 3rd of April. Mercury in this Fixed, Earth sign can be associated with common sense, down-to-earth thinking and practical intelligence with an eye on security and self-worth issues. When contrasted in the natal chart, he could turn narrow-minded, stubborn, inflexible and suspicious of new ideas and theories. In all cases he takes his time to make decisions but once made they usually become irrevocable.
Mercury transits are fast. However, this stay in Taurus will last just over two months due to the retrograde period which starts on 21st April at 15°37’ and ends on the 14-15th May at 05°51’. The planet will leave Taurus for Gemini on the 11th of June.
Mercury will make the following aspects as it transits Taurus:
03 April (00°10’) – square Pluto – good for research but don’t get obsessed or be obsessive.
05 April (03°12’), 12 May (06°08’R), 18 May (6°30’) – a triple-hit sextile aspect to Saturn this will be an opportunity to make practical matters a priority.
07-08 May (06°53’), 23-24 May (15°15’R) – a two-hit sextile to Mars – life could get busy!
12 May (06°00’R) – a sextile to Venus and a simultaneous sextile to Saturn – those practical matters could involve some kind of art or poetry.
04 June (20°22’) – conjunct Uranus – unusual ideas could jump into your head, some practical, others not so, there may also be contrariety if others aren’t in agreement with you or vice versa, since we all have our own unique thoughts about this or that. There may be unexpected and upsetting moves too, Taurus is a fixed sign that doesn’t appreciate when things and people move too fast.
09 June (27°33’) – sextile Neptune – a chance to stimulate our imagination but this is not the ideal aspect for clear thinking and care of detail.
Taurus rules the 2nd house in traditional astrology and so it regards all things connected to our value system, not only our monetary and material comforts but also our self-esteem.
