FULL MOON IN PISCES
I feel you
The Full Moon will occur at 28°14’ Pisces (antiscion 1°46’ Libra).
The Moon is separating from a conjunction to retrograde Neptune, emotional oneness and empathy stand out strongly but the Sun in Virgo takes a more critical view of life and prefers practicality and order over chaos, will we be able (and willing) to find a compromise?
Retrograde Jupiter in Aquarius, dispositor of the Moon is exactly trine Mercury in Libra which is the dispositor of the Sun. Mercury is also conjunct the fortunate Fixed stars Spica and Arcturus. Plans for a socially agreeable future are possible despite Moon’s inconsistency and indecision sternly opposed by the Virgoan Sun’s need for order.
Mars, in detriment in Libra is on the same degree as the Lunar nodes making the planet a key player during the lunation. Mars in Libra fights for justice and fairness and could make us more confident (Mars) about our gut feelings (Neptune-Moon) and enable us to act on them by helping others (Virgo).
In the Western world we tend to indulge ourselves in feeling-based activities on full Moon days but in Tibetan Buddhist monastic tradition this is a day devoted to the purification of “negative” karma during which people are encouraged to indulge less, thus creating space to contemplate the true nature of reality.
In traditional astrology the Pisces Full Moon is connected to the 12-6th house axis and the Pisces/Virgo opposition, in short; in the 12th house our energy goes with the flow whilst in the 6th house we arrange our energy ie.: we plan life. The Pisces/Virgo opposition lends to dynamics such as chaos vs order, compassion vs criticism, all-inclusivity vs discrimination etc.
Pisces is a mutable, Water sign and this Full Moon will have major impact on persons who have planets or angles in the late degrees of the other mutable signs; Pisces (conjunction), Virgo (opposition) and Sagittarius and Gemini (square).
Raven Kaldera in his book “Moon Phase Astrology” describes the Full Moon in Pisces as the
“Healer’s Moon”
since Pisces demands deeply personal service as opposed to its opposite sign Virgo who believes that the best type of service is rendered impersonally. So, on the Healer’s Moon we are invited to find ways of bringing healing to others in some way. Healing can in fact take on many forms be these physical, mental, emotional or spiritual.
The Sabian symbol for the Moon at 29° Pisces: “Light breaking into many colours as it passes through a prism.” Indicating the analytical power of the mind necessary for the formulation of life processes in their many aspects.
For the antiscion at 2° Libra: “The transmutation of the fruits of past experiences into the seed-realisations of the forever creative spirit.” Indicating a repolarisation of inner energies leading to a creative centralisation of creativeness.
For the Sun at 29° Virgo: “A seeker after occult knowledge is reading an ancient scroll which illumines his mind.” Indicating that after a crisis one should seek to realign the renewed consciousness with the primordial Revelation of the Truth of Man.
“You learned to run from what you feel, and that’s why you have nightmares. To deny is to invite madness. To accept is to control.” Megan Chance, The Spiritualist
