“If you own this story you get to write the ending.” Brené Brown
On June 28th there will be a Full Moon at 6°28’ Capricorn, a Cardinal Earth sign and the sign of the Moon’s detriment where it is at its least at ease.
This is a Full Moon with a huge potential for change. The Moon in Capricorn, in its detriment, where it feels least at home and is emotionally “cold”, is just separating from a conjunction to retrograde Saturn, both are opposing the Sun in Cancer. Here, on the one hand, we have the power to really transform our emotional set-up regarding our responsibilities (to ourselves and others) and on the other this aspect lends itself to selfishness and pettiness which could spoil the metamorphosis or could also encourage us to listen to our gut feelings and react on them.
Mars in Aquarius, the other Saturn-ruled sign, is now stationing and very close to the South Lunar Node. Effort will be required to maintain calm as patterns and habits unravel and need to be discarded.
This Full Moon falls on the traditional 10th-4th axis, work vs home, public vs private, one parent vs another, rigidity vs flexibility etc. The persons most affected by this lunation will be those with planets or angles between 3-9° of the Cardinal signs of Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn.
Full Moons are peak energy times, “now or never” moments regarding any projects we have initiated or intentions set at the preceding New Moon fourteen days ago.
In his book “Moon Phase Astrology” author Raven Kaldera calls this the “Grandmother’s Moon” and her interest in in protecting and caring for her family. She is a ruler and this Full Moon is archetype of the Elder in all her fullness. On this Moon he suggests that we honour our Elders, alive or dead.
The Sabian symbol for 7° Capricorn: “A veiled prophet speaks, seized by the power of God.” Indicating the ability to act as a mouthpiece for the revelation of a transcendent will and truth determining future actions.
For the antiscion at 24° Sagittarius: “A bluebird perched on the gate of a cottage.” Indicating the reward which meets every effort at integration into a social environment for those who remain true to their own selves.
Where have you peaked at this Full Moon?
