watch your words….
This New Moon will occur at 22°44’ of the mutable, Air sign of Gemini.
This is a very inquisitive, intellectual Moon, hard to pin down emotionally due to its constantly changing feelings caused by its tendency to over-rationalise everything. Under pressure this Moon is not very reliable and commitment issues may surface.
The Sun and Moon (together in the New Moon phase) stand alone (they are making no aspects to other planets in the transiting chart) so they are particularly powerful giving a strong rationality and clear-headedness over the next four weeks.
Morphing from glib to gushy, Mercury, the dispositor of this New Moon has just entered Cancer, the Moon’s own sign, and so the two planets are in mutual – hopefully beneficial -reception (each in the sign of the other). With a very recent sextile to Uranus, newly in Taurus, this Cancerian Mercury could suddenly erupt by expressing itself in shocking ways either by being extremely nurturing or tremendously cranky. Even more so given its actual OOB status (6-24th June) where playing the maverick card could come just too easily. The exact square to Chiron makes our words either healing or hurtful and the upcoming opposition from retrograde Saturn insists we take responsibility for them whatever.
New Moons are times when we are invited to set our intentions for the month to come regarding that area of our life which the Moon is illuminating in this lunar phase. People most affected by this New Moon will be those with planets in the mutable signs (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius and Pisces) around 20-25° and it’s antiscion point at 7°26’ Cancer.
In his book “Moon Phase Astrology”, author Raven Kaldera calls this New Moon “The Little Brother’s Moon” because Gemini is the traditional ruler of the third house that also involves siblings. For Kaldera this Moon phase in Gemini represents “the younger sibling who lives in his mind and not in the physical world since although he is intensely clever, compassion is unknown to him.”
He continues “on this Moon we indulge our curiosity, the nervous energy associated with it can affect already highly strung people to the point of a nervous breakdown and concentration becomes difficult so it is more worthwhile to go out with friends rather than stay at home worrying.”
The Sabian symbol for the New Moon at 23° Gemini: “Three fledgings in a nest high in a tree.” Indicating the growth of spiritually creative processes in an, at least, relatively integrated mind.
For the antisicion point of 8° Cancer: “A group of rabbits dressed in human clothes walk as if on parade.” Indicating the tendency in all forms of life to imitate higher forms as a stimulus to growth.
“Be sure you taste your words before you spit them out.” anon
