• NEW MOON IN TAURUS 26TH APRIL 2017

  • ….get grounded and let go of those hurting feelings

It’s time to set your intentions for the New Moon at 6°27’ Taurus that will occur on the 26th April. The Moon is exalted in this Venus-ruled, Fixed Earth sign.

The New Moon falls on the 2-8th axis of the traditional zodiac (Taurus-Scorpio) which involves matters such as security vs temptation, calm vs crisis, sex vs taboos etc. It is significant for those who have planets or angles between 5-8° of Taurus, Leo, Scorpio or Aquarius.

So, part of our intentions for this moment might involve building things (projects, relationships or whatever) to last by creating stability in that part of our lives illuminated by this New Moon. To do this we need to listen to our body and follow our heart.

Author Raven Kaldera, in his book “Moon Phase Astrology”, calls this New Moon the “Dryads Moon”, the Dryads are the quiet, shy spirits of the trees, and he states that “this Moon phase in the earthiest of the astrological signs comes forth in a form that is as close to Nature that a human can possibly be”. He suggests that on this day we should steep ourselves in Nature by going for a walk or just sitting in the garden or park when possible.

Venus, the ruler of Taurus is in close conjunction with Chiron at the end of Pisces, now is the time to heal those hurts and move forward leaving behind any aspirations of playing the victim. There are also several other conjunctions in the sky now, the Sun-Moon in Taurus, the afore-mentioned Venus-Chiron in Pisces and Mercury-Uranus in hasty Aries (fortunately and hopefully held in check by the trine from Saturn in Sagittarius).

Conjunctions represent the conclusion of a cycle and beginning of a new one and are generally propitious for the setting of new intentions for the month ahead.

The Sabian symbol for 7° Taurus: “The woman of Samaria at the ancestral well”. Indicating the meeting of the traditional past and of the creative spirit pointing to the future.

“Letting go means to come to the realization that some people are a part of your history, but not a part of your destiny.” S. Maraboli
