• FULL MOON AND TOTAL LUNAR ECLIPSE ON 27-28TH SEPTEMBER 2015

  • halloween_nightThere will be a full Moon and a total lunar eclipse at 4° 40’ Aries on the 27th September at 7.50 p.m PDT and 2.50 a.m. GMT.

This is the last eclipse of this year and the fourth of four total lunar eclipses in a row, a rare event known as a tetrad. This is also the second Super Full Moon in a row and the closet to the earth.

According to Bernadette Brady, renowned astrologer, the effects of lunar eclipses are more internal and emotional, urging us to ponder the problems of life etc. Eclipses are spotlights that shine on our life-path, they catch you in mid-action illuminating that area of your life (house) in which they occur. Whatever has been shoved aside or ignored will turn up for your attention and this could be experienced as dramatic and emotional whilst at the same time giving you the opportunity to deal with it, or not, it depends entirely on you.

Brady has classified the eclipses in the Saros cycle into precise characteristics according to the planetary configurations present as the moment the eclipse was born (for those interested in learning more about her theory please consult her book which I’ve included in the reference section).

This particular eclipse belongs to the S.S. 18 North series which initiated on 4th February 1060 to end on 8th March 2304, it involves a Pluto-Mercury conjunction with Uranus on the Mars/Saturn midpoint. Brady states that “a high stress level accompanies the energy of this series and individuals will experience a taxing of their strength. Events will occur that require the expenditure of effort with the whole flavour of the eclipse being of physical concern as well as worry or obsessive thinking.”

On September 26/27th 1996 there was a total lunar eclipse at 4° 18’ of Aries although of another Saros cycle of a less stressful nature, and extremely close to the actual one, what was important in your life at that time? What is happening now?

The Full Moon in Aries is called the “Warriors” Moon by Raven Kaldera in his book “Moon Phase Astrology”. On this Moon we fight for what we believe in and it’s also a time for grappling with our demons and learning patience.

The Eclipse falls on the Aries/Libra axis (1-7 houses in traditional astrology) so the emphasis is in on relationships. Being a total lunar eclipse the Sun in Libra is in close contact to the transiting North Lunar Node indicating the opening of a soul-journey portal for all and that there must be a balance of yin and yang in our lives if we wish to achieve harmony.

Full Moons are also known to be times when things climax, when we decide that enough is enough for certain aspects of our life. This is certainly more so when the Full Moon closely aspects any personal planets or angles in your chart and also depends on the houses involved.

    Any stories to tell??
